I'm feeling a little too quiet. So while I'm working on arts in silence, ask me questions. About me, my art, whatever.

how long have you been drawing?

I've been drawing all my life, and drawing anthros for about as long. I've always loved fantasy creatures and dinosaurs, and cartoons made it easy to think of animals that talked and lived mostly like people. Solange started out as somewhat Egyptian-inspired illustrations of a dromaeosaur/raptor goddess or priestess, around 1994. Those images merged with another older character of mine, Emerald, a TMNT fan character that was half dragon, as well as a few other influences and became what she is now sometime around 1998. Her design stabilized around 2001.

My interest in dinosaurs and mythology, folktales, science fiction and fantasy... personal totems and ideals of what I wanted to be.

You're probably thinking of the "Short Skirt, Long Jacket" Image that Fossil did of Solange, Thorne, and Val. It was an exclusive image that was part of Tyreenya's music-themed portfolio, "Symphonies in Fur Minor". It was never released by us online.

Not much, things are almost all the way back to normal in my area from the storm. I got the new circle cutter that I needed in order to make my 3" button badges, though, and the prototype came out well, so I'm looking forward to making more now. Trying to work on commissions on my day off, but it's sort of nice to just relax, too, so it's difficult to stay on task. My job is job-like. I go, and do my best, and come home... repeat ad nauseum and collect pay.

Probably Scrabble. I like Trivial Pursuit and Boggle too. I like non-board games like Yahtzee, Apples to Apples, and card games like uno and crazy eights as well.

Josephine is Solange's counterpart, the devil to Sol's "angel". A twisted variation of what she could be, under different circumstances. Josee is more selfish and outgoing, quicker to speak her mind and do as she likes, regardless of others for the most part. She is made up of a variety of traits, some that I abhor, some that I mildly envy or cautiously respect. She is meant to be a villain, disturbing the balance and clouding the waters. I'm still learning about her, as her concept solidifies in my mind over time. I've been drawing her since early 2002, but haven't finished many pictures of her in that time.

Hmm. Mostly self-trained, I suppose, though I've had a fair amount of being trained by professionals in school. It's difficult to want to count that, since it's not like I have an art degree or anything... but I can't ignore the contributions that my teachers and professors have made to my technique and way of looking at things. I've taken a number of general art, digital art, drawing and life drawing classes over the years.
