Rainy days are great. When it starts raining we wait for a couple of hours for the rain to clear any muck off the roof and out of the gutters then we divert the rain water into buckets and start loading it into containers for drinking. Beats drinking tap water...less chemicals. I boil the water before I drink it. So rain means a couple hours hard work but if we don't get a clean run we sometimes store the less clean water to water the vegetable garden. I wouldn't be able to collect the water if it wasn't for mate. It all helps to reduce the financial burden to the water board and it helps on the conservation side of things.

If we arn't collecting the water either we've filled the tanks or its late at night or whatever then I guess we sit back and listen to the rain on the tin roof of the shed. Its very quiet in the house but sometimes the rain is at the right angle to hit the front window of the house.

I enjoy the rain, cope and mostly enjoy the thunder and lightening but its the wind that gets to me. It freaks me out a bit, I'm paranoid about falling trees and parts of a roof flying off.

Rainy days when its cold is good for stews and hot puddings but when its hot my and I strip off and shower all-natural out in our secluded back yard. Its fun, a little naughty but it cools you down like nothing else and does wonders for your hair and skin.
