Today, I listened to Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" album, Serj Tankian's "Harakiri" album, and random stuff by Nirvana, all for the first time.

Sounds like an interesting day.

Fun fact about Pink Floyd: rumor has it that it was actually doubles as an alternative soundtrack to 'The Wizard of Oz'. I have actually seen the film with that album playing, and in all honesty the results are...scary. I wouldn't say it totally works, but...

I always liked Nirvana (I think everyone does), and I really enjoyed Serj Tankian's self-titled debut (2007). It was really good (very emotive, excellent song writing, wonderful instrumentation) and in many ways better than System of a Down's music IMO.

HAHA thanks! And actually I would just like to say a few things about Lady Gaga (that's what you meant, right?). The excellent members of her production crew (I.E. the people who write about 70% of their music) were total game-changers for pop music. Even though the club-infused sounds of pop weren't relatively new at the time, I personally accredit Gaga's 2008 material for basically making electronic music mainstream.

I love that she's pushing the limits of fashion and changing the idea of "beauty" while being a true philanthropist for sub cultures and acceptance. ....as well as dancing my ass off to her music.
