Awhh, I am really sorry to hear that. That really sucks. I lost my gaming fun years ago I really need a new setup. Gateway is impossible to play anything on.

i never bought and computer games because i never had a computer that could play them untill recently so i'm saving up for gw2

i am not really a fan of steam at times

Steam doesn't usually give refunds, although that's no different from most retail stores which won't refund opened games either.

Have you tried contacting tech support from the makers? Does it crash? What happens when you try and run them?

I start it,the computer says its running something [the little hourglass] and then nothing,and steam says that i played the game,complete with "last played" pannel stating that it was a minute ago and sometimes opens that games on sale pop-up.

http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri is a godsend, I always check games with this before buying 'em just to make sure, even though it's more of a guideline on if you'll be able to at least run it.

Although it seems like you're having more of an .exe issue than actually fps/slowdown issue, might want to try Google perhaps?

Have you tried running it in the window compared to having it fullscreen? That happened with one of my older games. XD
