A new explanation (Can't thank you enough for your patience)
This will be a pretty long one.
First thing I would like to say is, I promise you that I am not going to run off with your money. As much as I can only give you my word, I would never be able to live with myself doing something like that. I've put so much into this account, this place, you wonderful people, to ever do that.
Now time to explain..
Basically, it seems to be apparent that life just does not want me to do these iron artist commissions. I had no deadline set on them, but that doesn't mean they should take this long, it's just ridiculous. I planned on working on them swiftly and having them done as they were ordered. Believe me, that was the plan. Because once September hit I knew I would be too busy to work as much on commissions as I would have liked to. First was the basement, ffffff.... then through my own negligence I let them go for too long, got back into the groove, got swamped with life, then, soon after thanksgiving, my monitor that I use for doing commissions finally crapped out. It had been buggy for a good six months before that, but it finally bit the dust. That wouldn't be a problem, if everything after that had worked out as planned. I replaced it with a large tv, since its cheaper than a computer monitor, and expecting the resolution to be better, thought problem fixed. Turns out that its widescreen, distorted and when set to normal, I just cannot work on it, almost 1/4 of my screen is gone. This new 'screen' was final sale, so I can't take it back. I've tried everything on that damn screen to make it work.
Plus I find out that my work computer is on its last legs.
My last resort was to move to a mac, the family computer. Saving all that I needed for commissions onto the web, and moving my tablet upstairs, I got prepared to install everything. As it turns out, SAI isn't compatible with mac. Didn't know that. I looked it up, and in order to install sai on the mac, I can either get some program, pirate a windows os, run the os on this program, then use sai, or pay 350 for a windows os for mac. Point blank that made me freaking hopeless. I'm broke. Dead broke. The money from the Iron Artist commissions? Car insurance, school fees, life costs. I can't return the damn tv screen either.
Yet somehow, through some strike of luck, I've found a solution. It's the best solution at this point. Basically, my family managed to get me a student license for Photoshop, CS6. For student price. Fully licensed. This solves all my problems as far as commissions go. My only problem now, is money. I've been job searching, with some promising outcomes, and am aiming to pay off my debt and bills that way. I do not plan on taking any more commissions, not for a while, if ever.
Wouldn't expect any of you to trust me enough to commission me any more anyways, which I understand.
Basically, once photoshop gets here, I'll resume and aim at getting them all done. I'm not going to run away with your money. I'm going to get them done. Then, enough with commissions. I'll find something else to do.
All iron artist commissions from this point will have to be in photoshop, which won't change the quality or style, I can assure you. Just a different program.
Why have I waited so long to explain all of this? I can't stand disappointing anyone, especially not customers. Either way, there would be disappointment. In my head, it seemed better to come to you with good news after this crapton of bad news. Obviously, didn't think that through too well. However, now that the anxiety and panic is all gone and I have good news for you, there it is. All of it.
Can't thank all of you enough for your patience. I'm so sorry for all of this, and hope I don't disappoint anymore. Can't thank my parents enough for doing something like that for me. It turned out to be the cheapest, most efficient option for all of this. And even though I can't afford it now, I can pay it off when I have the money.
Seems just in due time for thanksgiving. Your thanksgiving, anyways. Happy thanksgiving, you American neighbors of mine.
The only thing I'm not thankful for though, is the evolution of technology. Screw you Windows, screw you and your widescreen monitors, screw you for abandoning the arts market. And screw you too, mac, just because, I don't like mac. Stupid weird operating system. Damn mouse drives me crazy.
If you read all that, you get a cookie. Also, feel free to voice your concerns and objections here. I understand that I handled this terribly, but please feel free to express how you feel.

Thank you for letting us know what's going on! To be honest as well, for future reference I feel it'd be best to update customers as much as possible during rough patches, that way people don't get so worried and skeptical! I know it sucks breaking bad news to commissioners, but most people wont be upset with you if you just let 'em know why things are taking awhile. :3 Things start getting weird when you don't say anything at all!
Hard to believe how kind you are towards this situation :'3 Seriously, thank you so much.
I'm really glad that you're well. I could either choose to believe that you'd run off with my money, or to believe that some difficulties had befallen you. I'm glad to know that it's not the former, but sorry to hear that it was the latter.
I really appreciate you going out of your way to provide a little update. I know it's difficult to face the prospect of giving out bad news, but I suppose that it's something that we have to all go through at some point or another. I'm also pleased that you plan to fulfill your queue, and I still remain excited to see your future art. Next time you have some rough times, just let your commissioners know! I think that most people will be good sports and understand; life's a bitch.
Be well!
I hope you'll still be able to enjoy your completed commissions, and appreciate all your comments. I surely don't plan to make any mistakes like this again, and I thank you for being so kind towards the situation.
Thank you for your support and kindness, I wish you well and still very much look forward to working on your commissions. :'3
Thank you for your concern, and for being so kind. <3
Thank you for all the kind words Stray :3
Thank you for your kindness :'3
btw u can just download a windows version for mac without paying O__O ooooh I used to have a mac and my old boyfriend was always playing with it. Also u can put another windows mouse in the mac, cause yup indeed the mac mouse sucks!
o.O Wow, from what I saw, the only free way to get it was by pirating it (Unfortunately, since my art is my business, I refuse to pirate anything that I need to do art... Would rather stay legal than make a false profit! Even if it costs me...)
good luck with the mac, from what my friends tell me once they got used to it they almost never want to go back.
Not sure why a newer tv would not display things properly for ya. If ya want to try trouble shooting it a bit shoot a note my way with the brand and model of the tv, and the computer, and we can try a few things, or not, up to you.
Glad to see you back either way.
good luck!
I've wondered that endlessly, really. Technology sure as hell frustrates me. Thank you for the offer, I'll probably take you up on it! If the issue can be resolved, it sure would be fantastic to have a backup. As I've realized, backup plans are a must.
Thank you for all your concern and your help, I really do appreciate it :'D
You've already heard my concerns so i wont bore you with them again, I'm just glad you back and things are begining to get sorted for you :3
*hugs tight*
Thank you for being so very kind *tighter hug back*
Listen, when it is all said and done at the end of the day you are most important matter at hand. Yes, keeping promises is good and keeping up with art is fine, you have so many people that care for you. We all, when I say this appreciate you updating even if it wasnt best of news'. But in all, Im very glad your ok for the most part. Furry thing aside, your still cared about person, and Im very proud of you for updating, sometimes hardest cast is the one, we least want to do in this fishing pond of life. Remember, sometimes you catch fish and sometimes, you catch things you'd never expect, like a logs. You take what you have, and go with it...who knows things are always brighter than they appear even in the darkest of the lifes given moments. So, take that log and prop yourself a seat next to the fire and do what you can, at the moment. It maybe a long ride, but hey...any ride with individuals and friends that truly care is better than sitting all alone.
-Yes, my speech is very cheesy but I mean it...Let your inspiration be the wind and like a kite soar through the autumn sky. For lifes greatest works is expressed in the artists low'low moments. ;)
*gives you cookie*
Thank you for such a fantastic philosophy. Helps remind me of the important thing I sometimes forget, optimism.
And regardless of whether its cheesy or not, I like cheese :3
Thank you for all the encouragement, and thank you for having so much patience. You are one of the people that make this community a joy to be in, and especially to work in.
*shares cookie with you*
Words are only great, its the philosophy of ones soul that really fuels the fires for a better understanding world. And you are most welcome and looking forward to being quit cheesy in the future for you. ;)
anyway u keep at it lady "YOU can DU ET"
also sorry i ate your roll while i was make a half-assed speech >.> i couldn't help myself
Thank you for all your support and concern. Yeah, the basement thing was a doozie, luckily we managed to avoid any molding or mildew, after lots and lots of airing out and antibacterial cleaners...
Oh dear, you better have an extra crazy Christmas! LOTS AND LOTS OF CHRISTMAS.
Just keep swimming just keep swimming just keep swimming swimming swimming c:
ERIGOJDSFESN Das okay, here's a cookie too :3 *gives you cookie*
XD actually, some alternatives for you for art apps.
BEHOLD SAI for Mac http://fav.me/d2gi094 8D Though I didn't like it as much, so I found out about
http://firealpaca.com/ which on an "old" Mac literally loads in 3.3 seconds, and forever annihilates Photoshop so hard in speed that Photoshop's ancestors feel it in the beyond...
It's always good to have like 4 or 5 alternative apps out there, and these two are legally fully free. Also I object to tech not working for you better :< that bites, hope you can get back onto finishing things soon :>
Those are some very interesting alternatives. They may not work for what I need, but, I'll keep these in mind in case of emergency!
Definitely understand the importance of backup plans now. Thank you for those. And yeah, technology is all like "lol you have work to do? Well I quit"
Thank you for all your support :3
I hope you've been doing well :3
*sends internet hugs, and also a cupcake*
Oeeeee cupcake :3 *gives tighter hugs back*
sorry yer comp is trying to nail yer lips to yer arse like mine did a few years back @@ though i am glad you didn't have like PISSTONS of work all ready to post and lost it all, ya know? *my scenario*
do yer best to get stuff going slowly but surely again Nyani. hope you're still doing well now that ya got programs moving abit again
God, computers @.@ Sorry to hear about that, had something like that happen to me once. Not that bad though. :o
Getting back into the kick of things so far, thank you for all your encouragement and concern :3
Haha same, feels better to have everything sorted out now
Sorry to make you worry so much :c
Thank you very much for all your concern, and being so very sweet :3
Hope you'll be happy with what comes out, so looking forward to drawing that lovely character of yours
I see you have posted two commission, but nothing since than.
Have you gotten photoshop yet?
Yep, chomped through two of them since the journal, been fiddling with photoshop a bit since then
I've had it since I did those two commissions, though I've been a bit nervous about doing more, not completely comfortable with CS6 yet, and I don't want to end up giving lesser quality work.
My deepest apologies for taking so frustratingly long, but I must thank you for all of your patience.
I did plan on posting a journal today, since its apparently my birthday @.@
Again, thank you, and I hope you can put up with me for a while longer, and that you'll still enjoy your commissioned work :'3
