seeing i dont expect any new albums to top my preferences i thought i'd might just post about my 5 fav albums this year.

5. ENSLAVED - RIITIIR
simply put, im a pretty big fan of enslaved and their sound and ive been listening to this a fair bit and been one of those albums i keep coming back to, my favorite song would have to be death in the eyes of the dawn.

4. KATATONIA - Dead End Kings
ever since i first listened to katatonia ive been in love with the album the great cold distance and has been my favorite katatonia album until dead end kings was released. just love how in parting just perfectly kicks off the album and just makes the rest of the album an experience. for me this is the perfect easy listening album for people who love extreme metal. my favorite song would have to be the one you are looking for is not here

3. DYING FETUS - Reign Supreme
this album is brutal as fuck, the intro to invert the idols just sent chills down my spine with how in your face it was and gave a perfect impression as to how the rest of the album would be like. its nothing new for dying fetus in my opinion but everything is tight and sounds amazing. my favorite song would have to be devout atrocity

2. WINTERSUN - Time I
if you haven't listened to this album yet then fuck you, just kidding but seriously check this album out. i had extremely high expectations for this album and it somehow just rose above that and left me stunned. i was expecting more of a sound like their first album but i fell instantly in love with their huge symphonic sound they have introduced, especially the amazing progression. this has left me so eager for part 2 of time. my favorite song on time would be darkness and frost.

1. BE'LAKOR - Of Breath and Bone
was a hard choice between this and wintersun but seeing how i've listened the hell out of this album already and it still sounds like the first time its definatly my choice for number 1. simply put this album is melodic death metal done perfectly and the harmonies are incredible. I also didn't believe they could top their previous album stone's reach because that is a masterpiece but somehow they did. to me of breath and bone sounds more mature and better structured so i seriously can't wait to see what be'lakor have next cause they are still a pretty young band. Definatly check these guys out because they are really under-rated. my favorite song would have to be fraught.
