Laptop is Infected!!!

General
I know I kind of just got back and all but... My laptop has been infected by a trojan virus called Malware Protector 2008. Therefore I cannot use it. All my previous art is on there and a bunch of works in progress. Photoshop is on it along with the scanner application so I can't scan any pictures at the moment.
I would really like some help with it! I've downloaded some malware programs to get rid of it, but it couldn't get rid of the thing that kept it there. I've done a bunch of things, but if all else fails, I'm going to have to reboot it and lose all lot of junk.
So I might not be on for a tiny bit. Not on AIM, not on FA, not anywhere. I'll check back with the "main" computer in my house, but other than that... I can't do much ^^;
Well Furrygami Out!

You boot into safe mode with f5, go to safe mode with cmd, and it's locked?
Either that's a snazzy virus, or you did that for whatever reason..
When I go into safe mode there are two accounts.
One is the admin one (Which I don't know the password to)
And the other one is named administor. I can't seem to get the password right for that one. And the hint is lastname1... Either it's a trick or I don't know my last name X3
You should try the Admin account anyway even if you think you don't know the password. It may well be a blank / null password.
Okay, so from your account go to Start, Run, then type in "cmd" ((assuming your on XP))
Next type "net user Administrator password"
After that's done, type "exit" then you can either reboot your computer back into safemode (the password for the administrator account will be "password"), or you could hit Ctrl + Atl + Del twice then entering "Administrator" for the username.
Should you get an "Access is Denied" message whilst working with system32 files, let me know. =P
First of all, take anything of extreme importance and get it on a thumbdrive (You know, portable storage thing)
Secondly, get yourself some virus protection, Avira anti-vir works well and it's free, and spybot will help you get rid of that crap too
This sort of stuff always happens to me
Ad Aware 2008
and AVG Free Edition 2008
Both free products, that kick a lot of ass. Download them both, run a full system scan, delete! Should be that easy. You can also go through your "temporary internet files" and delete EVERYTHING, that usually takes care of all trojans.
To be more exact, here is an example.
C:Documents and SettingsThe JapzikanLocal SettingsTemporary Internet Files
C being my main hard drives name
Doc Settings being... well documents and settings
The Japzikan being my accounts name
Local Settings also being local settings
and temp internet files are usually hidden, so if you just enter all that in the windows explorer menu, then delete EVERYTHING there, you should have gotten rid of it... Or other harmful things.
If not, download those programs and run em'.
And that temporary thing sounds hard X3
I guess I can try them both
I guess I'm retarded and copy pasta'd a little messed up...
C:\Documents and Settings\The Japzikan\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
... Wait, looks fine now... well there is suppose to be backwards slashes AKA "\" AKA "/"
Only reason I'm giving you many examples, is because it might not show the backward slash =o, it's located above the "ENTER" key.
Just seperate each section with one, like a normal windows explorer thing... its really not that difficult
Then you can work with your Laptop.
-CCleaner-
This program helps a lot to clean those files werdna250250 talks about.
It's easy to use and I use it on my PC regularly.
But remember this usually doesn't clean the virus, that's what antivirus are for:
http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/
About antivirus, you can try those suggested and even those that activate from their sites.
You can even reinstall all the windows with your laptop CDs and it will help you to clean the virus and have a fresh environment. BUT, be sure you have all the programs you normally use at hand (like photoshop and whatever program you cannot download on internet) then you have to be sure you have the drivers CDs of your hardware (like the scanner drivers and printer drivers that may don't come included in the laptop CDs)
