Earlier today in my school, there happened to be a chemical spill and the Sheriffs office hazmat team was dispatched. Apparently, a chemistry assignment, where students had to bring in certain elements from the periodic table and showcase them to the class. Well a few of those chemicals, which the teacher had not clarified not to bring, were quite dangerous. Chemicals that were flammable, combustible, explosive, and down right dangerous for students to handle. The school had been put on lockdown and the hazmat team went from room to room to grab the chemicals and dispose of them. Luckily i knew one of the Deputies on the team and he told me all about what had happened and i even got to assist him in the findings and disposal of the chemicals. The most dangerous chemical had been mercury, again, luckily the hazmat team took care of it. The final thought is being that the teacher had not been appropriately safe with this assignment, damn sophomores....then again, i did set off the fire alarm last year when i put lithium into water, and for all those science kids out there, causes a bright flash and somewhat of an explosive reaction to where it melt the glass it was in and released hydrogen gas in the classroom XD oh well
