Saw a pic of them called husky rats, looked them up and found that they eventually turned white... so much dissapointment.
Do you know if the blaze marking they have is considered a high white?
A rat with a blaze is either gonna be a roan or a badger. And badgers don't come into rescue but once in a blue moon, so chances are if its a dark rat with a blaze coming into rescue, its a roan.
Badgers have all their body coloured except their 'gloves', 'socks', belly and a white blaze (like my fursona). They have colour up the sides/flanks basically. Roans just have like a 'saddle' of colour along their back, but it doesn't go down the front legs.
I honestly don't know if there is an official way to tell. I've also found roan eyes have a milky 'white' iris when photographed which seems to be unique to them.
Ziggy are you on pet rat lovers on facebook?
