What's the point of post Christmas list/wish journals?[rant]

I am more noble than you? And you are more noble than me?
I can understand if it's for close friends planning Christmas parties and present exchanges or you rich furs who can buy game consoles and tablets and send them to friends.
Do people actually do selfless giving? Seriously, whose dick do I have to suck to get something for Christmas?

If i get chosen or not i still think it was pretty cool. Sometimes people go give selflessly. ^_^
