So, I love Star Trek. Specifically I love the original series! This new run of films that blatantly insults Roddenberry's creation by carrying its name is so sickening! I've gone from not liking the new cast to absolutely going ALL CAPS RAGE!!!!! It's enough they dragged the star trek name through the mud with the Enterprise series (Scott Bakula,really???), but now they are ruining it further by rewriting the history of the star trek universe? Not only that but next they are gonna trash the legacy of my favorite star trek villain, Khan! Are they really hurting that bad? Refuse to even acknowledge this farce of a relaunch. This is not star trek, its star "explosions and let's see what a bunch of wasted money on special effects can do to save our wallets this time". Ugh! RIP Star Trek, I will remember your glory days when Roddenberry was alive or at least his family had some say in what went on. You will be missed...

The reason why they are doing it is because time was changed. There is an alternate timeline, and we have no idea if it actually IS Khan! Remember, the events of time in the star trek universe were changed forever due to the events 20 to 25 years prior to the events of the first Flying of the Enterprise. If anything it gives the series a completely new twist.

A new twist... Sounds like M. Night Shamaylan. My belief is it wasn't broke, why fix it? Then again its my opinion, I will hold on to the star trek I love and remember. In my heart, the dream is dead.

I did not say they fixed it! Remember that one movie where Picard tried to save earth from the borg by going back in time. As well as that movie where Kirk went to save the whales. They changed time twice! I think it's just good they are trying to keep the franchise alive.
