Reading the Wiki about it makes me think it's gonna be similiar to Neil Gaimen's 'American Gods'.

I just read American Gods recently ( Was good, but didn't like it as much as The Sandman )

I read some comics, I'm always trying to find more I like, right now I read/have read:

Runaways, Buffy Season Eight, Ultimate Spider-Man, Ultimate X-Men, The Ultimates, The Sandman, Y The Last Man, Fables, Books of Magic
I think that's about it.

Go check out the Wanted graphic novel when you get the chance. It isn't like that dumbass movie they're releasing. >: /

Also in the vein of manga, if you haven't already, you should really check out: Priest, Helling and most especially Blame. Blame is mind... or uh... load-blowingly gewd.

Also Y The Last Man seemed pretty amusing! I read the first tiny bit of it a few years back. A gender specific virus seems scary. = / Too bad it wiped out men instead of women.

I'm on book three of the trade paperbacks, it's truly wonderful. The first book is fun, the second one is downright disturbing — excellent remixing of fairy tales and modern life.

Have you read Sandman yet?

Yes, I loved it. I'd highly recommend Transmetropolitan, too. I want them to make a movie of that with Patric Stewart as Spider Jerusalem.

For a laugh, find a copy of N.E.X.T.W.A.V.E.: Agents of H.A.T.E., but be warned that it was canceled after about 2 trade paperbacks worth. It's a hilarious meta-parody comic about super-hero comics. It has drop bears, a suicidal bad guy, a severely dysfunctional super-hero team, and a godzilla-knockoff in purple boxers.
