For as long as I can remember, I have always had to work on Christmas Day. No big deal, since I usually got paid extra for it, and we always made arrangements with my in-laws (the only semi local family) for another day during the week to celebrate. This year however, My mother in law will not be snow birding for Christmas, and oddly enough, both my mate and I have the day off. My parents are in Maine, and with no children or other relatives near by, this will be the first Christmas in a LONG time... hell ever, where I had no family to spend it with. Okay, I will have my mate, but Christmas for me has always been a time spent with family, and just spending it with my mate feels really weird to me. It could explain why I've been stalling in regards to decorating and getting ready for Christmas. I mean what's the point when you don't have anyone around to share the joy of the holidays, or make cookies with.

Speaking of... I think I may try and make some cookies this week to take with me to the Dec fest this weekend. I wish i could go to the event for the whole time, but since I'll be working 6:30pm-5am that night(yay overnight shifts), I can only go for a couple hours before work. Should still be fun though and I'm looking forward to seeing some of my fur friends that I haven't seen in months as well as meeting the people that are organizing the AZ Fur con later this year.
