I know what I (probably) need to do -- install a new drive and make a disk image of what I can of the old drive -- but I just don't have the money right now. This is what I get for spending so much on commissions! Dx

Ya I know. Been using my phone... And now their is a problem with it too.

My problem with the labtop is it does not want to boot, it stops at the windows logo and loads forever. I did some research and found out that its my boot sector thats dead. And it wont allow me to reset back to another date or repair its self. So I went out and bought a case for the 2.5" harddrive to make it into a external harddrive to get stuff off which worked great. And only cost me 25$, but the down side is that i can not transfer all my files. Their is a small protion of files that claim they are too far damaged and will not be copied but open or play well, weird if you tell me.

Load up a windows install or repair disc, load the command prompt.

If it's Win 7, the command to fix your boot record is bootrec /fixmbr, which actually DID temporarily fix my system before the hard drive completely went out on me.

I dont have the disc it never came with it only a preinstalled windows... So what now?

Nevermind I tryed to reinstall windows and the harddrive took a nice dirt nap . So sent it in for repair.
