Okay, let me start by saying that this is not JUST an empty, generic apology about not updating. The art I'm doing now takes a long time to do and I get it up when I get it up. It's not JUST laziness I swear!
But I digress, this is in fact an apology (at least partially) for not updating all that often anymore. I don't like not having a steady stream of content to put up, and I'm sure you all would love to see me posting new things more often as well! However, my current artistic interests have drifted away from fractals, which take just a few hours at most, renders not included, and are now focused on pen and paper abstract works, which have while probably don't take that many hours to complete (Mostly), I can't do them all at once. I work on them in short-ish stents over the course of the day, which adds up pretty quickly into a week or in the case of my most recent work, just shy of a month. Now, if I worked on them at home rather than almost entirely at school, I could very likely get them done sooner, but with homework, having to keep up regular exercise, preparing for finals, and just generally living, I often don't find I have the drive to do so. That reason I think is one of the main causes of me not doing as much fractal art.
I know, most of you on my watch list are watching me for my fractal works, and while I do feel like I'm letting you lot down somewhat, I do also kinda feel like the "novelty" or whatever you wish to call it of the initial discovery of fractal art has worn off for a good number of you and as such the interest in what of that genre I do submit has died off. And I understand that. It's only human after all! I'm the same way with quite a few things!
Now, I'm going to stop myself before I fall any further down the slippery slope of negativity and paranoia! I'm not abandoning my page here. Nor am I abandoning fractal art, pen and paper stuff, writing, or whatever else I find interest in creating.I love creating art, and almost nothing will make me stop. There's just plenty going on in my life that takes precedence over drawing and fractaling and posting it on the internet. Please stick with me through the likely continuing art slump guys. The fact that there are people pretty much all over the world, no matter how small in number they are comparatively, that enjoy the things I create is just about the coolest thing ever. (Second only to a REALLY nice piece of singletrack trail!)
Now, before I end this admittedly rather lengthy journal, I just have a few little announcements to make. I have semester final exams next week, so chances are, I won't even be online to check messages, and then for the two weeks (give or take several days) following that I will be on vacation with little to no access to the internet. During that time, the lack of distractions should hopefully help me to really focus and with any luck, create a good number of fractals, do some more writing on "Keeping up With the Coyotes" as well as a new thing I've started, and maybe a little bit of pen and paper stuff too!
Have a great weekend and Merry ChrismaHanuKwansaDon!
