Further Confusion 2023: Millennium Edition
30 days out from the Furbidden Planet!
30 days from now we'll be holding the opening ceremony for Further Confusion 2013. I honestly can't tell you all how excited I am to see the hard work that has been put into this event by our all volunteer staff come together! I honestly can't tell you how excited I am to see all of the cool, creative, and awesome things that our attendees will bring with them to the party! I'm bouncing off the walls in anticipation!
The theme for Further Confusion this year is The Furbidden Planet! and it's kind of special. For one thing, it's special because it was chosen by our attendees. All of you voted for it with your voices and we heard. (110db worth of cheer, by the way! Man you guys got a set of pipes on ya!) It's also special because it's a play on the sci-fi classic, The Forbidden Plant which was, at it's core, what we are all about: the power of imagination.
And rockets! And sci-fi!
This will also be the 15th Further Confusion and that's kind of special, too.
With that in mind, we've got some very special things for you this coming Further Confusion.
Charities:
Our charities this year are great! Little Blue Society and Cat House on the Kings both do fantastic work, we're happy that we can offer them some support and notoriety. We look forward to having them with us and presenting to all of you information about what they do to make the lives of the animals around us or in our hearts much better.

Guests of Honor:
The Guests of Honor we've lined up are no less awesome than our charities! We're pleased to have Ursula Vernon back as a Guest of Honor to…well…honor her 2012 Hugo Award for Best Graphic Story! Huge deal! Very, very awesome!
We're also please to have Chris Savino as a Guest of Honor. Chris is a writer, director, producer, and animator who's body of work includes Dexter's Laboratory, My Little Pony, Rocko's Modern Life, and Ren and Stimpy juts to name a few. Oh…And this is his first time as a Guest of Honor at a fan convention!
Men In Suits - We're extremely pleased to announce that Wyrd Studios will be on hand to present a screening of their recently completed KickStarter funded documentary about the actors have played some of the most iconic rubber-suit/costume character roles to ever grace the silver screen.

Live Concerts and Performances - The very talented Matt Ebel and Runtt are turning to Further Confusion to perform a very special concert, part of which will be set the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I'm also told there might be cannons or something...I don't know...our A/V guys go a little wild at times! We're also quite pleased to present the first public performance of a Bay Area Furry jazz ensemble on our Main Stage.
And not to be forgotten (or missed at the con!) both 2 Gryphon and Uncle Kage return to Further Confusion for a couple of hours good old fashioned folksy family friendly Furry comedy. Oh, who am I kidding! These guys are funny as hell and often completely inappropriate even for adults! We love them and we're glad to have them back with us this year!
Of course we also have the ever popular Further Confusion: Unleashed! (Accepting act submissions!), Masquerade (Accepting sign-ups!) and Fursuit Dance Competition (Accepting online tryouts!) returning to FC2013 again. Act submissions for FC:U! will be closing December 31st.

TWO Fursuit Lounges!
That’s right, we’ve heard you loud and clear, and this year we’ll be adding a second fursuit lounge in the Guadalupe room of the Marriott, as well as the room in the Convention Center with access to the patio outside.
Our two extra sponsorship programs have so far been quite successful.
To start, our sponsorship for street banners in Downtown San Jose has had fantastic response! We expect that the city will start putting up the Further Confusion banners about two weeks before the convention (around January 3rd). Once they're up we'll make sure that we post photos of them for all of you!
Our Lounge Lizards sponsorship program has done pretty well too. In fact, just this week SofaWolf Press joined on donating a bit of scratch to the effort and, in a completely surprising and generous offer, will be offering a 10% discount to all Lounge Lizards sponsors at Further Confusion 2013! That right, if you donate $20 toward a Lounge Lizards sponsorship you'll not only get your name displayed before our big shows, a glow in the dark bracelet, and the satisfaction that you've helped us create better social space at Further Confusion, you'll get 10% off at SofaWolf's table! How bloody cool is that?!

It’s back! We’re proud to announce that FCTV will be returning via internet stream during the convention itself! We’re now open for content submissions, check out this page for more information and the link to our media upload site: http://www.furtherconfusion.org/2013/events/fctv
Pre-Registration:
Pre-Registration has been quite strong so far but do keep in mind that it closes at midnight, PST, on December 31st. After that date you'll have to register at the door. Trust me, you don't want to do that if you can avoid it because this year we're implementing a new pre-printing program for our pre-registered attendees! We believe you'll be able to get your badges faster than ever at Further Confusion! If you're pre-registered, that is. :D

Hotels:
Both main hotels are SOLD OUT! A handful of rooms are still available at our overflow hotel, the Ramada San Jose, which is just a few short blocks from the Convention Center. You may still be able to find a room (or roommate) using our forums: http://www.furtherconfusion.org/forums/index.php/i/13/
Panel Submissions and Schedule:
Panel submissions are now closed and the final schedule is being created, stay tuned for it to be posted! Also, check out our new and improved pocket program at both pre-reg pickup and at-con reg, this will contain ALL panel information, as well as the full schedule, and will be available as a PDF download for mobile devices!
