How do you guys pronounce "Bryar"?
Another pointless journal because I'm bored. How do you guys pronounce "Bryar", Megan's last name? I wanna see if anyone pronounces it the same way I do.
If this gets any interest, I'll update with my pronunciation in a bit.
Edit: The way I pronounce the name is Bry - to rhyme with "rye", ar - to rhyme with "are". Also, this got a lot more of a response than I ever expected, so thanks to all of you!

FA+

We also pronounce Hollow=Holler. and other such things.
XD
Bry - ar sounds quite good also, though for me it will always be Bra-e-are XD
Whichever version works best for you. I really don't mind how people pronounce it, this was just me being nosy as usual.
Bry as in eye.
Ar as in aardvark.
Though this post has shown my ignorance a bit, too, as I generally pronounce briar as "bry-er" instead of with the "ar", and I wasn't thinking about difference in regional dialect.
"Bryar" We call the letter "Y" (wye) Ipszilon (epsilon) when it's the letter only. For that reason alone the first letter of Ipszilon is "I" and most Hungarian people, who aren't speaking English pronounce "Y" as "I". So "Briar" should be right...
Now I know how to speak English so quoting you above: "Bry - to rhyme with rye, ar - to rhyme with are." Bry-are...I pronounce this in Hungarian like this "Bráj-ar"...the "áj" you pronounce as the "saying yes to the captain" the "aye" and even the "eye" sound the same to "áj"... (My name sounds like Killeráj Darkstón in Hungarian) So it's "Br-aye-ar" ...Head hurting now? Check out these letters then: "éáöőüűóúí" ...if you see them...well it's probably confusing to you.
Is that anything like E-I-E-I-Oh? (as in Old McDonald had a farm...)
by the way, Mistress, I'll be glad to fill in for Megan since she's already taken..... *wiggles her eyebrows*
You have your own, very special place in my
heartdungeon!...they wouldn't like me when I'm not in heat! I'm usually very sadistic and doing stuff, that is considered evil acts by most individuals with Natural & Good alignment. So the time spent with my friends are also confusing them, to think I'm fun-no-end. But when I go down to the torture section of my dungeon...Soul/blood/information harvesting and undead creating aren't going to be done by itself...
Safe word is useful - Your current one is "Megszentségteleníthetetlenségeskedéseitekért"...Yup it's one of the longest word in the Hungarian language..
"scared shitless" Anal time then!
Yes, I can see everything just fine...You look sexy bound to a sawhorse. Let me grab my strap-on with the changeable dildos for the harness! There are increasing sizes in that package, according to which species phallus one chooses...the last one I call "Girl Breaker". I wonder if you manage to get that far!
But we will hold a lot of pauses...in those I'll focus on pleasuring other sensitive parts of yours!
-The last pieces are made from soft-elastic foam, so only their size are scary, but actually they are fitting every girl quite comfortably...the name is there to break the mind and instill fear...just before realizing it is a trick!" *giggle*
Hey! I pronounce everyone's name like that, whoever I deem worthy of remembering on their name!
Though, as I might have mentioned, I originally used Bryar as Jessamine's last name in my second novel, where it was largely inspired by her rather prickly nature. I just stole it for Megan because I liked it.
was that close?
She'd probably blame me for encouraging you!
I pronounce it "bunbun" =~.^=
But seriously, yes, I am one of the very many here who also indeed pronounce it usually just the way it's written; like briar, with the more long-drawn eye sound to the I, and the "bri" part emphasized =^_^=
I have heard some interesting pronunciations of my username :D
