1 Month Warning

This really has nothing to do with you FA guys, but it affects you so I have to post something. Basically I am sick of all the emotional stress and frustration my art hobby is causing me due to the fact that my DA gallery has been going nowhere for quite a while now. If there isn't some kind of noticeable improvement there in the next month I'm quitting art for good. If you care enough for more than general sympathy you can read up over at my DA account for more details.

It is really hard to make noticeable improvement in just a month. Some artists take that long to work on a piece, whether its poetry, painting, photography, and I'd even say sports. I say sports because even sports is the art of the body, where you have to train your body in order to perform well. Thinking about quitting art may hinder your artwork as well. If you feel that your hobby is frustrating, don't fill all your free time with it.
Hope all works out for you!
PS I don't have a DA account, thats why I'm replying here.
i m constantly working on my style and making chanfes to it.
First off, I understand the feeling greatly. Yeah, I'm pretty much just starting out myself. Every time I think I've worked hard and improved it gets little notice it seems.
But there have been spurts it seems. Moments where the process seems to pick up quicker than other times. They happened whenever I started speaking with other artists, doing trades, putting myself out there. Selling myself in a sense if you will.
And I see it happen to other artists as well.
Your submission stays on the front page well exposed for the better part of 2 minutes, if that. Some may find yours burrowing through the favorites of others or the archives of the sites, but ultimately its going to be through the interaction of artists that will win you the day as well as constant diligence and improvement of your art.
From what I've spoken with you I know you do do that (sorry, getting on IRC has been shaky at best lately), but perhaps do it more. Work hard. If someone you admire is offering trades, ask for one! Worst they could say is no.
You said you've been drawing for years. You've invested a fair amount of money in hardware and software to be able to do this stuff. A sabbatical might be in order if you truly cannot vent frustration properly, but quit forever? Seems a bit extreme.
And if that's the case then I'll buy your Cintiq off you.
The main thing I have to say is that if you're being frustrated by anything relating to your art, then I'd advise looking for the source and thinking about how to handle it. I suppose you might count me as one of the small group of devoted fans you mentioned on DA, so I don't know if I can do anything to help. I really enjoy your art, and I think you've noticeably improved-and to be honest, I've never understood the idea that people aren't checking you out. You're fairly prolific and do very nice work. I suppose I should be watching you on DA as I am here, but since my DA account is pretty much about lurking, I don't really have anyone that I'm watching.
I would hate to see you quit making art entirely, though. Part of this is because much of your art caters to personal interests of mine, but also because I'm really interested in the comic you have mentioned wanting to start, and I'd love to see you get that off the ground, even though it would mean less pin-ups and sketches for us greedy people. :-P In short, I hope you don't go, and that your art frustrations can be resolved soon, so that you enjoy your work more.
whatever is the choice you take, make sure that's what you really want.... please, think again, I appreciate your art a lot
