It's understandable. A character's personality is shaped by his/her environment after all.

If I remember right, Reveion's species is simply called a Snow-fox, right? If so, my advise would be to just have the other names be as simple and straightforward. Which would be appropriate if A) We're dealing mostly from a perspective that is tribal at best, and B) there aren't that many species occupying either region.

Well, as I get more detail out on the planet, and the snow-foxes in general, I'll be revealing that the species reveion belongs to is alot more organized that tribal, but lack of thumbs prevent that from being obvious.

But their species is still called the snow-fox, right? If that's the name they refer to themselves by, I can't imagine their terms for other animals would be any less direct.
