A new themed restaurant is on the way at Disney World in Orlando: T-Rex The Restaurant. As unusual as that sounds, this is real. It's being built by the same company that runs the Rainforest Cafe restaurants, which pretty much tells you what they'll be like. From the press release:

"T-Rex is a unique concept that features dining and retail in an interactive prehistoric environment. The concept is built around water, fire and ice -- guests visiting T-Rex will be greeted with life size animatronic dinosaurs that live among cascading waterfalls, bubbling geysers, a fossil dig site and much more."

Hmm, I wonder if the T-rex will try to eat the guests? No, wait. That's at the other theme park down the road.

The restaurant will be located in the Downtown Disney section and judging from the construction photos I've seen, it looks like it will be located at the opposite end of the shopping area from the existing Rainforest Cafe. I'm sure it will do well as all the themed restaurants on their property are popular.

Now if they'd just build a dragon themed restaurant, then I'll be all set.
