Stigmatrimony
6PM EST, today, will be American wedding time. I'll be out of reach until next Tuesday, the 8th.
The whole process has been by the skin of my teeth. I can't tell you how many corners I've cut to make this happen. I'm relying on the generosity of tens of family, friends, and friends of friends. We don't even have the money or time for a proper honeymoon, but none of that really matters. At the end of the day, I'm going to have a lot of awesome food, awesome live music, awesome friends, (including toulouse and bloodshot23!) and an awesome wife, and we're going to drink awesome shooters, listen to awesome music, and then just sit around and soak up each others awesomeness!
More Thanks to Commissioners
The reason I bother posting this on a furry art site is because, as you may know, you guys represent 99.9% of my commission work. It looks like my commissions here are transitioning out of sketches and moving into full illustrations, at prices where I can really push myself. I can't afford to offer low prices, so I really treasure when someone feels their money—ultimately their energy—is worth the imagery I produce. Without Fur Affinity, the furry fandom, and your characters, I would not be getting married. I'd be a far less experienced artist. I'd be a less-professional and cultured individual. Ultimately, I wouldn't be the person I am today. Thank you all for giving back to me, through your finances, or just a nice comment every now and then.
Why Furries
These commissions—especially the more involved ones—are celebrations of people, relationships, and life's struggles. They are designed to be an image unlike any other, a token of the marriage of our experiences, a your relic for you to enjoy the rest of your life. On a more spiritual level, each image represents a prayer for the client. When I deal with somebody else's work, I always pray that my art is a vehicle to touch them in some sincere way. Sometimes this comes in the form of self esteem, relaxation, or catharsis. Sometimes it's just a badass image that brings excitement. I don't always know what somebody needs, but I pray that truth makes itself evident in my imagery, and occasionally clients grace me with such parallel insights! This may be the only time I disclose that part in writing, but the spirituality and psychological ramifications of your characters is one of my favourite things to geek out about! Don't bring it up in a con or I'll talk about it until your ears bleed.
In closing, I take your character designs very personally. I believe that—especially when your character represents yourself—the importance of my loving that character as much as you do can't be understated. Even if you don't realize it, your characters say an awful lot about you, and giving that idea up to an artist's interpretation is a really intimate exchange. Thank you for giving me a glimpse into your lives. i continue to pray for your characters, that they may continue to teach you and others important life lessons long after they leave my canvas.

Congratulations and may there be tons of soaking in awesome atmosphere for years to come.
I'm sneaking Doo Da Doo Doo into the dance song list, by the way.
Massive congratulations.
Best wishes for the wedding and congratulations !
Lots of Happiness to both of you!
Also, its such an honnor to commission an artist like you, especially after reading this journal.
You are a true artist!
May you and the soon-to-be wife have an amazing wedding!
Your artwork always evokes such beautiful passion and emotion, capturing more than just the physical features of a character.
Whenever I look at your art, I always feel a deeper understanding of the character.
I hope to commission you again in the future, and until that time, keep up the great work. :)
Also, that wedding sounds a lot like my own, ha. It was small, and it was awesome. Just being around people we love and loving how awesome we all are!
Many happy returns, regardless. Hopefully you won't have to stand in line too long (unlike those people who didn't remember their receipts).
Understand that as much or more than you're grateful to us, it is we who are the really lucky ones. Any derpface can make money, some more than others, and it doesn't always equate to the quality or skill of their own work. What we can't do is produce images with such emotion and feeling, especially with others' characters. I've always felt that art is an extremely difficult field to be successful in, because there are a lot of people who are pretty good out there trying to make it. Your work, though, is on a whole other level. I really feel like you're just waiting for the right person to see your work and you're going to explode. May that day come soon!
Congratulations again!

I just commented almost the same thing to someone else, but I think that's an amazing attitude to have towards commissions. It makes each piece of art that much more special to have that level of care, love, and inspiration put into it, and I think you're doing your commissioners and viewers a great service by doing so. It's nice to see this coming from two different people I admire!
