the only thing i really hate about outages is when they're unexpected.
Otherwise, you guys are still better than any other art site. Even dA has little outages all the time.(all i have to do is refresh, but, you know.... still annoying to get them several time a day)

I know how it feels when a server's component randomly dies. ...thing is, my server's charger blew up while somebody stood infront of th server XD. Poor guy must have gotten a heart attack... :S

i've been checking back and forth on the site all day as i often do and i never noticed this outage or this notice till after said outage was completed. i just noticed the header thing saying outage notice complete and i scritched my head and was like "what outage? o.O"

I, for one, am glad that this happened... because the opportunity to update it has occoured.

I've noticed that the site overall has gotten faster as of late. if this is primarily because it had the chance to reboot, i would actually support regular down-times.

and it's going to get important once my auction comes to a close since in the end i'm going to be watching it like a hawk in hope that there's a bidding-war going on to be a boss in my video-game.

Yeah, I'm sure the actual reason was RAM failure. That hasn't been an excuse for downtime since 1994! If the RAM had actually failed, the site would've collapsed as the machine in question would've had a kernel panic - yet the site was still working as normal until you suddenly had to replace the RAM stick. WOW, ITS A GOOD THING NO ONE ON THE SITE AT ALL WAS ACCESSING THOSE HIGHLY SPECIFIC MEMORY ADDRESSES.
