not getting any better... back to the docs....
so when I went to the doc's for the first time I didn't get to go to the decent doctor's office and was stuck going to the one where all of my previous urgent care visits were met with unprofessional and fairly incompetent doctors and unfortunately this one was no different. The doctor didn't listen to all of my symptoms, interrupted me constantly, all he did was just poked me in the face called it a sinusitis before writing me a few prescriptions and sent me on my way. he didn't even walk me back to the waiting room even though he had no other patients :( i'm not getting any better despite taking all of the meds and now we don't know if my insurance will cover another visit :( BUT ON THE UPSIDE i have lots of projects lined up for when i'm feeling better.AND MORE GOOD NEWS!!! i've filled out my application for the volunteer program and attended orientation for the woodland park zoo so fingers crossed that I get accepted.
It attracts too many people who treat it like any other business focusing on selling products instead of actually caring about making people better.
Hope you get one that knows what they're doing this time.
*hugs*

I suffered/suffer from seemingly endless sinus problems and because of that I had to find my own way to deal with it. Lack of insurance also played a role.
I start with a good ear cleaning, hydrogen peroxide works good for this. Lay on your side and with a dropper if you have one fill up your ear. Give it a good minute or so to really loosen up what ever is in there then drain it on a towel or into the sink. Using a squeeze bulb if you have one or a syringe without the needle blast some warm/hot water up into your ear while draining it face down. Follow with q-tips to mop up what is left. Expect some dizziness during and just after the process.
Move on to brushing your teeth three times a day, once in the morning, once in the afternoon and once before bed. A good gargle with a salt water solution/saline solution will help out and before a brushing is a good time to do it.
For the nose here is the really crappy part, a nasal rinse, once with hydrogen peroxide. It will foam, it will feel like it's burning a little and it'll make you gag as it works into your throat. You may even vomit however I find it's really good for cleaning out all the nasty that has been camping out in your nose. You'll still have some running and some dripping but that should clear up in a day or so.
Note: I don't like the neti pot, pouring fluid into your sinuses is a generally bad idea and the neti pot tends to cause more harm due to people not using it right or using it too much then it seems to help. A few drops of hydrogen peroxide is safer and more effective in my opinion.
For the fluid in the respiratory tract there isn't much you can do except hope it clears up now that you aren't adding to it. Try sleeping either on your face so that it drains out in the night or sleep propped upright so that you can drain out at night and not into your respiratory system. The worst thing that can happen is a build up of fluid in the lungs that can lead to infection which can only be cured with antibiotics. Avoiding the infection is important.
This is going to sound really odd but get yourself a decent vibrator. Those things put out some great vibrations and I have found that if you roll it around on your forehead (a sinus cavity is up there), on the bridge and down the front of your nose (sinus cavity), and the cheeks under your eyes (sinus cavity) it can loosen the build up of trapped fluids and help relieve pain and pressure and get things moving. I like the egg style vibrators for this the best but what ever you are comfortable with, I just didn't like the wand style ones.
I came up with the above after I had a terrible sinus infection that hurt so much I thought about just killing myself to escape it. It was beyond migraine pain for me. Nothing they gave me helped and aside from pain killers which only managed to take the edge off the symptoms didn't clear up.
I hope this helps.
