Generally all viruses are known, and can thus be removed by antivirus software. The internet is bursting full of free antivirus software, just scan your computer with Malwarebytes or something. I'm afraid that you might think of viruses as mysterious dangerous things which can do anything, but typically they'll just block a couple things from updating or redirect webpages to somewhere else. Really really dicky ones might prevent you from signing into your operating system, but there are burnable antivirus boot disks for those too.
