The reality of publishability
So, now that FA's back, I figure it's a good time to update with everything that I've written for Beautiful World since the site went down.
. . .
Um... actually, I think a better thing to do is to level with folks. Right now, I'm at twenty-nine thousand words and I've just about hit the halfway point. I've added two more chapters, the plot is about to have its first peak, and I'm seriously starting to look at this as a publishable work in its own right. This means that, unfortunately, I won't be posting any more pieces of Beautiful World publicly. As much as I'd love to be able to give the whole thing away, I really would like to be able to see this actually hit print, and the more of the story I make freely available, the less likely somebody like Sofawolf will be interested in it.
However, this also means that I'm currently looking for a small number of people who'd be interested in serving as alpha-readers of the chapters as they become available to provide spot-edits and feedback. I confess I enjoy the attention that the updates bring, but I can't scratch that itch and still end up with a reasonably marketable product, so this seems like a reasonable compromise to me.
This doesn't mean that this account is dead, either. I'll still make updates here and there as time and occasion permit. I just won't be adding any more of this particular work here.
