2012 Ursa Major Nominations!
General
The nomination period for the 2012 Ursa Major Awards has begun! If you love Slightly Damned and want to help the comic gain some recognition, please help out by voting for "Slightly Damned" (in 2012, meaning pages #479-#563) in the category of Best Anthropomorphic Graphic Story and voting for "Slightly Damned Book One" in the category of Best Anthropomorphic Other Literary Work!
What are the Ursa Major Awards?
"It is intended as Anthropomorphic (a.k.a. Furry) Fandom's equivalent of the Hugo Award ® presented by the World Science Fiction Society, mystery fandom's Anthony Award, horror fandom's Bram Stoker Award, and so forth."
For those of you that want to know more about the UMA's, you can visit the official website here: http://www.ursamajorawards.org/index.htm

Wait, why do you care? I thought you didn't like the furry label?
I just don't like being limited. If I went around calling Slightly Damned a furry comic, then people would think it's only for furries because of the stigma attached to that label. Slightly Damned is for everyone! And it would be nice to get some recognition for once.
...Besides, if works like "Brave" and "Rise of the Guardians" qualify, I don't see why Slightly Damned wouldn't.
Nominations close February 28th! Thank you for your continued support!

The first Slightly Damned book is finally on sale at IndyPlanet! I know the price is a bit steep and it takes a while, but that's what happen when you have a print-on-demand title that's as big and colorful as this book! Believe me, the book looks great!
Here's the link to its IndyPlanet listing: http://indyplanet.com/store/product.....oducts_id=7433 Yes, they ship internationally!
If you want to see a video of what it looks like on the inside, I have one here on Flickr (although it's a video of the flawed first book, they are practically the same thing): http://www.flickr.com/photos/the_chu/7491808324/
...And if you don't want or can't afford a hard copy, a digital version of the book is now available on IndyPlanet Digital: (http://www.indyplanet.com/digital/product_info.php?products_id=7433&osCsid=40ha4mdj6pcqfv767vih0h89p7) It features the exact same content at a fraction of the price.

Apologies for the rant.
The text is unreadable if not; hurts to look at, text balloons are cluttered everywhere, serious placement issues and the comic panels aren't used in any way to compliment the story (or what's left of the story anyways) Lots of darkness everywhere to create a 'darker-and-edgier' kinda style but he obviously doesn't know what 'framing' and 'contrast' means, in the state it is now, it's just plain ugly. I'm just wondering how this got nominated, let alone released. =/
Nordguard definitly deserved the first spot in the last Ursa Major Awards despite its issues with the overal pacing of the story (and various mistakes that are apparant in every beginners comic I've seen), but for a first comic it's actually pretty well done. =3
That being said, Slightly Damned is definitly getting my vote in this round.
