Not all who wander are lost.~JRRTolkien Sooooooooo I forgot to post this sunday night. BUT here's one now:
Ok, so I got there a day late as, though I'm getting better, I wasn't cleared to drive. So I got my mum to drive me actually. It was rather enjoyable actually-she stayed in the hotel with us, hung out mostly with me, and even got a day pass for Saturday! She took to the convention rather well. She wore a couple tails, got along with all the artwork (she even went to the adult art show and was perfectly fine with it o.o), absolutely adored the fursuit parade, and in general just took everything in stride. Well actually she was even to the point of making sure that the volleyball girls didn't hurt the suiters when they were jogging and not paying attention to the suiters with bad eyesight.
As for the hotel- I hate the Hilton. I FFUDSKlVJICOJDS HATE THE HILTON. They employ the dumbest people on earth, I swear. I had to call in about a dozen times since they messed with the room names and payment stuff and so much other crap. I'm trying the Mariott next year. Hopefully that helps...
My roomies were great- Mara and Soft were the best roommates I could ever ask for. Loved hanging out with them, and was easy to live beside them in general. Azulez is also to be commended on how well he orchestrated things for the other room, and I really appreciate how much he did to make things easy, especially when I was unable to come the first night.
That being said, I'm not gonna do the roomie thing unless I'm traveling with them/letting them just crash in my room for the night. It's not about the roomies, it's about the chaos that hotel staff makes for it. I'm just tired of it. @.@
As for the actual con stuff, I rather enjoyed everything I could go to, even though I was still slow to walk and got tired easily. Only got one bear-hug, which I quickly stopped then later made a badge to make sure people knew to handle me with care. ;w; There was something non-con related that made the afternoon of Saturday kinda suck, but at least got cheered back up by singing karaoke with random furries. Africa ftw! I didn't get much stuff, though I did get a $5 sketch from sigil and a fursuit collar from matrices, as well as all the badges from the trades I did. Got to see a lot of people, though seemed to not meet everyone I wanted to. But in the end, it was a good time. I'm definitely coming back next year. C:
