YEs but my school is...how shall I put this...not exactly gay-friendly, so I'm on thin ice already
(We are made to go to Catholic church four times a year and we are taught ALL of the religious Catholic stuff, including that you are SUPPOSED to be heterosexual)
Parents would understand though.
It would be truly awesome to go (especially since my mate lives in the UK and he'd love to go) but alas I will be busy and probably no money.

I hope you both have a great time. The first time at a con can be frightning, but at least you have someone to go with, someone to share the experiences with. My first con was AnthroCon back in 2000, and I went by myself. It was very scary, but once I got there I had a wonderful time. Still with I had someone to share it with, but most everyone was friendly and there was a lot to do and see. Have a great time, you two.

Just thought I'd mention that if you're looking to commission a fursuit, Latinvixen does good ones.

Shipping out to the UK might be difficult though, and most fursuits aren't cheap.

Conventions in general are daunting the first time you go, but everyone's a bit nervous the first time. It won't help that there will be lots of people who recognise the name on your conbadge, but it's always nicer to go with someone too :)

Shame I'm not going, but life is too busy right now. *grins* But I can give you a tip...

If you're worried about being treated like a celebrity, ask the event organisers to give you a badge with a different name. That way you can tell folks you want to meet what name you'll be attending as and you won't get hounded by the crowds.

Oh, and if you can, book a hotel room for the two of you... Commuting to a convention just isn't anywhere near as good as rolling out of bed and you're there and staying up late and collapsing into your own sanctum at the end of the day.

... Not to mention that it's good to have a spot to keep anything you buy... or a change of clothes if someone happens to be near you when they drink too much =~-~=
