Winter Plans and Furnal Equinox

General
First, some happy news: I will be attending Furnal Equinox in Toronto from March 8 - 10. I must say, I am looking forward to getting away from home for a few days to spend time with a lot of old friends. FE has proven to be a really great little con and it's not far from here, so it's anything but a strain on my budget. Should be a wonderful time! And it cannot get here quickly enough.
So many people have shared with me that I'm not the only one who's gone through difficult times recently. At least I don't feel left out.
I will not go so far as to say that things are looking up, but I'm at least feeling better. I restarted my exercise program (paying for the gym membership with Christmas money) and that's helped to clear my head and give me many good nights' sleep. Everything got upended in mid-December, with one serious consequence being that my job search went completely off the rails right before Christmas and I am essentially starting all over again.
The Game Developers' Conference is at the end of March and I'm currently planning to attend in order to network, shake a lot of hands, and fling résumés at studio reps. Unfortunately, the expense of doing this is rather huge, as it's way out in San Francisco and the trip will easily cost me several thousand dollars. I will need to make plans by mid-February, but I'm thinking it would be a very good investment, as it does not look like my job hunt is going to bear fruit before then, in any case.
I will probably be a bit scarce on instant messengers for the time being as I pull everything back together, but I'm always available by e-mail or Note if you need me.
Onward and upward.

I'll need to raise some extra cash on eBay to pay for all of this, but I think I can manage it! My hotel bill alone is likely to be $1700. Hello, downtown San Francisco during a 25,000+ attendee trade show. Ouch. That's a lot of auctioneering!
*hugs*
P.S. you said "Bear Fruit" and my dirty mind went elsewhere.
I'm looking forward to seeing you again. I'm just glad you're so busy! I hope I'll be able to say the same in short order.
I'm in full confidence you will say the same VERY soon!
I sincerely hope you're able to come! We spoke only very briefly last year, and I would love being able to get a photo or two with you when you're in suit. Certainly looking forward to seeing you there if you're able to swing it.
