Recovery

From the Desk of Jack the Gorilla....
Well, long story short, it's been a long day of recovery for me. When I was driving home from the ER this morning, the muffler on my car gave out. So, one more obstacle to face and get taken care of. So I've spent today finally relaxing and working on little projects. Do a little work, rest for thirty or forty minutes. I ended up reading a whole magazine as well as watching two movies! Thats a lot of catch up for me.
Anyway, onto the main content of this post. One of the things I did today was have a discussion with a friend about a lot of things in the media we experienced as children, and how pop culture has evolved. We ended up discussing some of the cult favorites from Fireball X-23 in the sixties through some of the heroic shows of the 80s like Knight Rider.
Feeling a little sick again, I left early and made my way home. As I am want to do from time to time, my mind wandered and I was having another conversation in my head with a fictional character.
(Am I the only one who does this? I've had conversations in my head with famous people, heroes, even fictional characters, exploring how to explain somethings to someone from another time, or how to convey a concept to a culture where it is seen differently.)
So, with my fever returning, I took a nap and had a bit of a fevered dream. A nightmare showing polluted and trashed beaches, industrial wastes, and an atomic test. I was having a conversation with someone, someone wise, someone kind, someone innocent. I wish I could remember who, but I remember waking up just as I said in my dream, and it still seems so important, hours after it happened; "We humans are enamored with the myth of our superiority."
Hmmm, looking at it now it is condescending and maybe a bit mean, but something about that just seemed so damn important in my dream, and I usually don't remember dialogue if anything from a dream. Think it means anything?
Anyway, sorry to ramble and pollute your inboxes, but I'm curious as to what others think.

Thanks, at least I'm not crazy on this one. I've chatted in my head with President Kennedy, President Reagan, Bea Arthur, The ghostbusters, Jim Baker, David the Gnome, a slew of aliens, Detective Olivia Benson and even a few with Jack Webb.

i usually talk with fantasy characters, such as aslan from narnia, ellen ripley from aliens, jiryia from naruto, and tons more from other shows, books, and anime. i like the idea of talking to people i admire, you know?

This is gonna sound really weird but Aslan and I had a falling out... Ripley, now that sounds like it might be some interesting conversations.
