Why do you RP?/Screw Commissions.
12 years ago
First off, I would like to ask all my watchers and friends, why do you Role Play? Here is why I do;
1. You can be/do Whatever you want, how ever you want not limited by anything but your imagination.
2. Have a fun time with friends
3. Express yourself through your ocs.
4. and my main reason...It's my only means of social interaction with most friends since I find it very hard to be social or 'human' any other way, so if you think I just want to rp with you instead of talk to you that is not true, that is the only way I can really talk freely, or express myself.
And to end this journal...I will never be doing Commissions/Art Trades/Requests/Point Commissions/Gifts/Kiribans anymore for the following reasons;
1. I am very slow, and cause everyone to wait ages.
2. No body thinks my art is good enough to pay for which severely hurts me and my motivation to draw.
3. When I draw for others I always worry too much about it being perfect which causes stress which causes horrible art block which causes more stress...

I definitely understand where you are coming from about requests/trades/commissions, etc. I try to be pretty fast, but very often, if I am not 100% into it, it takes me weeks to make each picture, maybe longer... And, the final result is only as good as the amount of interest I can invest in it. I also worry about being perfect. I can look at other artists' works and see a masterpiece, and I can look at mine and see imperfections. I always want to improve, but if I try too hard, I bust and end up in a long-term art block, which is another seemingly endless cycle; lack of motivation leads to difficulty drawing, which in turn leads to delays, then stress...
As for Number 2: I cannot commission anyone or take commissions due to a lack of a discreet way to transfer money... However, your art is VERY good. You put detail in the pictures that I don't even get close to! That is my next goal. First, it was drawing clean, smooth lines. Then, coloring, shading, backgrounds, shading again... That's how I've improved so far, but I still need that detail! I can spend hours on a picture just trying to put in a little detail, and it just doesn't come out right for me.
So, don't let others make you feel down just by being too cheap to commission you. You are a very good artist! Besides, let's see... For trades, I have done at least twenty and received only about five in return (and they're usually... pretty hastily done...), requests often attract the attention of people who are into things I do not want to draw... I do gifts, occasionally, but what I like about those is that I'm not on a schedule. I can just do what I please, as long as the intended recipient is into whatever I am incorporating. But anyway, if you feel like you don't want to take commissions, trades, requests, etc, don't! Everybody wants everything from anyone who is giving handouts. But, you just have to remember...
What do you want to draw?
I'm sorry to hear about your art though. I hope you feel better.
