Well Elliott’s Spring Gathering you have finally done it, I will never be attending another event. I stopped going to the house parties because 1 poorly planned event a year was enough for me I didn't need to attend 4. The house parties are nothing more than a frat party without the frat.
Before I go any further I want to say that 90% of Elliott’s goers are awesome furs who just want to have a good time with like minded people and to fursuit. Then there are those drunk over sexual pricks who have little to no concern for the owner of the house, his neighbors or the people going to the events. Throwing alcohol, pumpkins and anything else they can find into bonfires. The “staff” doing little to nothing to control those morons or “patrons” who are disrespecting not only other patrons but furries in general.

The Elliott’s Spring Gathering was the only saving grace but, over the last several years, has become more and more of a disappointment. Artist stopped coming because they were getting tired of being screwed over, patrons stopped coming because they were tired of the event staff allowing artists who were known for taking the money and running to continue to be registered artists.
The poorly planned events, the chaos of registration and most of all the lack of communication between patrons and staff but even with all of that the Spring Gathering still had a large, loyal, local following. Then in Elliott’s fashion with less than 3 months notice we get the surprise news that the Spring Gathering is being held in Las Vegas. Do we know what hotel? No. Do we know about any of the events? No. Do we know the price of the event? No. Is the registration page up? No.
But this is a common theme with the Elliott’s events. To further show the lack of planning that goes into these events the weekend before the Spring Gathering is another much larger furry con (Biggest Little Fur Con - http://www.biggestlittlefurcon.org/). Elliott’s should take a lesson from this con. Their page has been up for months, is easy to read, and all the information you need at your fingertips.

Honestly I would go to the Biggest Little Fur Con over Elliott’s. I may be offending a lot of my friends because of my disappointment in the Elliott’s crew and if I am I am sorry this has nothing to do with you. I am posting this because the Elliott’s staff needs to get a clue. They don’t listen to their patrons and can’t take constructive criticism. They have lost the respect of a lot of artists as the last Spring Gathering showed, I have never seen an artist alley so dead and lacking in the number of artists. The idea of a surprise event is cute but totally impractical for a con. Sure keep a special guest or maybe one small aspect of the con a secret but the whole damn con just shows a lack of organization and fore thought. I am sad to say this but I think Elliott’s Spring Gathering may be seeing its last days. You can’t keep dicking your patrons around and expect them to continue to be loyal. Well Elliott’s has made it much easier for me to decide where I will be sending my money this year, FWA. I really feel Elliott’s has made a huge mistake here and has just increased the number of FWA goers.
