This is a bit more of a personal journal than usual. Some folks know what is going on and others don't know everything but might know some things and it's all been rather confusing as of late XD So here is a run down starting from square one.
---
1) For the past half a year we had been spending a lot of time looking at houses. Well we bought one! Everything is finalized and it is 100% ours. We have been spending almost every available evening and weekend moving our stuff over (and thus me finding so many things to sell on here heh) and fixing up the new house before we moving in for good. This last weekend for instance was spent painting all of the ceilings. (So many hours spent but it looks so new!)
We are going to officially move in this weekend (ie move the computer and bed etc) but will still have a lot of work to do after that in order to make the house 'ours' (more painting, some renovations) and to set up my new temporary workroom so that it is sufficient until we are able to build a proper outdoor shop for me in the backyard (exciting!). This is somewhat complicated by the fact that the backyard is on a steep grade and I want running water and plumbing in the shop so it's going to probably take around a year to fully complete.
All in all this is a very exciting step for us and is somewhat related to another bit of news.

2) I'm pregnant! I'm actually quite pregnant (about halfways along) and the baby is due in the summer. So while so far for us the house has been taking the majority of the time, right about when we get all that settled out, we will have a new much needier project to tackle.
So far the pregnancy has not really interrupted my work flow much (a little more sickness and complaining here and there is about it) and I'm not really sure how much or if it ever will (opinions seem to vary but here's hoping I get lucky). But I'm taking the proactive approach and refusing all new large projects. I have enough to keep me busy until the summer as it is :p I refuse to even guess how long until I can return to a normal work schedule after the kid is born as that depends entirely on them. I remain hopeful though.

3) And the latest bit of awesomeness is that next month I'm going to be a guest at Con-G! http://con-g.com/2013/guest-spotlight-beetlecat/
I have never been to the central/east side of Canada before and I'm very excited to be there and to experience the con and interact with east-coast folks that I rarely can manage to cross paths with. I have no idea what/any programming/adventures the con has planned yet but, while there, I hope to be able to give a panel focused on explaining how I made my quadsuit. Bring questions! XD

So yeah, seems sometimes like this is all I say but lots of cool crazy stuff coming up for us already this year and we are barely a month into it! XD Life is just such a cool adventure :D

I look forward to child sized fursuits in the future :p.
I hope you get as lucky as I did and have one that likes to sleep 7 hours through the night at only 6 weeks old! (When you give birth, you will completely understand why this is the best well wishing ever.)
Best of luck!

Sounds like 2013 is your year! :3 Good for you!

Midwives are amazing. Ours were so calming and helpful, both before, during, and in the weeks following. Are you doing a home birth? (We did, I totally agree w you about hospitals....I hate them/they scare the bejeeaus out of me) Actually did a water birth in a birthing tub in our home. It was the most unbelieveably experience, totally surreal. But wonderful....it was SO nice just crawling into my own bed with the wee one afterwards instead of being in a strange place with a ton of doctors and random nurses around. Congrats to you both, and all the best wishes!
All the very best to you all! Hope things super smooth and easy for ya. Midwives are totally the way to go, I can't imagine going the hospital route if I didn't absolutely have to. Kudos to you and your hubby, and all the positive vibes and good wishes. :)
This especially has been really great and uplifting to me.. I always worry about anything that will take me out of working for a while (like I 'owe' it to folks to make new stuff) so I've really been happy with all the well-wishes ^_^
Truely, this is a wonderful suprise to wake up to!
