The Dorgit Returns
Hello all! Well, I know it has been a while since I have been around, and I am sure that many of you already know why. But for those of you who have not heard, here is why.
In October of last year, I was diagnosed with tuberculosis. I went from 165 lbs to 130 in less than a month. I was on medication for 6 months, and one of the medications seems to have caused nerve damage in my back. Well, I went to my spinal doctor to see if there might be something wrong, but the PET scan showed there was nothing out of the ordinary with the spine--however, the scan showed an anomaly in my digestive tract. Before they could get this checked, I wound up with thrush (an infection of the upper GI tract) and it was so severe that I had to have an endoscopy to have my throat stretched open. I couldn't even swallow saliva. After this, they checked out the anomaly in my intestine and discovered I had a rather large growth. I underwent surgery on the 14 of July, and it was confirmed it was cancer. The good news is, the doctor was able to get all of it, and recent tests seem to confirm that I am cancer free! I will have to have regular tests every three months, and I am hopeful that they, too, will come back negative.
So, there you have it. I am back, but getting back into my art is still somewhat of a struggle for now. I still get tired easily. I am still having problems with very low platelet counts, so have to watch that I don't injure myself until I get the counts back up to normal. I will most likely be put on a different cocktail for my HIV, because they think this could be the reason for the low counts.
Well, I guess that is everything for now. I am doing well and hopw to start drawing again soon. I am looking through my art on this site to see if perhaps there may be somethings I haven't posted.
Take care my friends and it is good to be back :) I hope to have something new to show you soon.
Love

Like many of your fans, I have been following your trials and tribulations over the past few months, and I am relieved and happy to hear you are feeling better and feeling creative again as well. Looking forward to future posts, but mostly glad to hear things are getting better for ya... you certainly don't deserve to have those kinda problems! Heres to a future full of happy Dorgit dances!
