The stupidity that is RiotGames and why I stopped supporting

So recently, RiotGames, the creators of League of Legends, tried to do something with the new visual rework of Annie: They wanted to set up a sale for Goth Annie, a skin that is normally gotten through a special bundle that costs a significant amount of money which isn't worth it if you have most of everything on it.
The issue? The community had apparently been torn in half by this. One half thought the skin should stay exclusive because they paid 3900 Riot Points just for the skin (around $20 or so), while some wanted to actually be smarter with their money and wait for the sale.
Unfortunately, within an hour of posting the announcement, it got downvoted enough times that Hippalus revoked the sale from happening because of all the complaints gotten. Bull. Shit.
The reason this was a horrible way to handle it are as follows:
1) The common complaint was that it would ruin the exclusive nature of the skin. The skin wasn't exactly exclusive, because while the skin was bundle only, it wasn't impossible to get, it was just really expensive due to the status of being in a bundle. If you had everything in the bundle, the skin wouldn't be worth it. (At most prework-wise, it'd be 520RP) This sale, in general, would've been an actual price-reduction to what would be normal for the skin after the rework.
2) The knee-jerk reaction. RiotGames waited simply an HOUR after the announcement before deciding to revoke the sale. That is hardly a good timeframe to get all the answers. It was beyond irritating for those of us excited for the sale, whether we wanted the skin or not.
3) The hypocrisy. The reasoning for revoking the sale was because of the downvotes alone. This has NEVER stopped Riotgames from doing stupid stuff before (Dark Valkyrie Diana, 1000RP fiasco, etc.), so why should it affect their judgement now?
All in all, they have proven to me as unsupportable, and I have since quit the game for good. They are inconsistent, make poor decisions both in balance and in general, and seem to care more about being a part of the community as friends and jokesters than to actually work on their game to the best of its capabilities. Eventually people will see this as more and more bad decisions come to light, and their company will go under, despite its growing popularity. But that day, sadly, will be years to come.
And for the record, I get a lot of people telling me in other topics such as this that I acted irrationally and kidlike and have no concept on the business aspects. Just to warn you a little.
