My philosophy on...

...making a Kaisura without my permission:
The short and simple of it is, at the end of the day, I can't really stop people doing it. Not without spending outrageous amounts of money on copyrights and trademarks, and pursuing people with lawsuits. I can tell them off, bitch them out, report them to the mods of a site which - to their credit - generally understand and are cool about sorting it out, but I can't really stop it happening.
I actually don't get angry when it happens, though. I mean, it sucks - I don't LIKE it, I find it quite disrespectful, and it is essentially stealing, but what does getting angry about it accomplish? This is the internet. Some people are cool, many are shitheads. You develop thick skin or you become an emotard, or at best, trollbait.
At the end of the day, if you go off and make a Kaisura without my permission, you're a thief. You're effectively saying, "I love your work but I'm too much of a shiteel to actually ask permission or respect you in any way so I'm just gonna go do it". You're already painting a pretty picture of how much of a fucktard you are - you don't need my help.
This isn't actually aimed at anyone, though. It's more of a general insight into how I think of the subject.

For artists;
I hold nothing against any artist who's been commissioned or accepted a trade or request to do a picture involving a "stolen" Kaisura or whatever. You do what the customer asks for; you can't be expected to go checking if the character's been ripped off or stolen every time.

Given all you've done and how you're still dealing with the issue, it likely isn't something that will be solved. There will probably be people that even make Pyramid-Head connections as well, or comparisons to Renamon or Burmecians. Humans connect similar things to each other, and if we've been traumatized (As far as trauma goes, it's probably a 1 on a scale to 10, but it's still there) then when we see anything that reminds us of that trauma then that's what pops into our heads. It's our problem, not yours.
If I spent considerable time with someone who had a Kaisura character, my subconscious would probably adjust and I'd never think of Sergals again when I see a Kaisura. But since I can't visualize off the top of my head exactly what a Kaisura looks like without blending Sergal imagery, the mental connection will continue.
I'm sorry to disappoint you.
Amirite?
I've gone to great lengths - time and effort both - creating, revising, refining, and polishing the background information, the fiction, Kaisura society, politics, culture, biology, etc. For this detail to exist, there must be constraints - rules - boundaries. There are physical traits a Kaisura cannot have and still be a Kaisura, and so on. When these constraints and guidelines are not respected, the subject starts being degraded and destroyed.
You give people free reign with something they will take it to the stupid zone very quickly, and far beyond before long after that. You can call a Kaisura with four wings and two tails that shoots lightning out its ass "creative" - I call it ridiculous, stupid, and incorrect. I created the species - I define the rules. You don't have to like it. You can call me whatever you like, because of it. But you won't change my stance on it.
The Kaisura are my creation, and I will protect them. I'm willing to share them, but I do so on my own terms, as is my right as their creator.
As for the issue of popularity? You really have no idea how little I care.
I understand that.
Btw, I sent you note asking permission to create a Kaisura.
You're welcome to ask again - if you still wish to - when I open to them again.
also don't be too hard on Echoen, i know i was the same way with sergals at first, but i warmed to them after awhile (tho i make sure to stay far away from the ones into guro), i have no idea how he linked Sergals to Kaisura (they don't look similar to me) in his mind, but thats the subconscious for you, think of it like a spoiled little child that does whatever it wants to do no matter what you want
The answer is ususally no.
I don't blame them one bit. I'll just keep being an insufferable and lovey gryphon for them.
As it stands, I'm more of a writer than a visual artist anyway and would most likely write about such a character rather than try to draw them and destroy everyone's eyeballs in the process. (My art is bad.. XD)
I don't see how people mix up the Kais races and Sergals. They're nothing alike. I, for one, could never see myself making a Sergal character, even while I have the above sentiment about wishing to explore the possibilities of making a Kais character at some point in time.
I wish to say you did very good on creating these races and they are a lovely sight to behold. The Kaisura, Kaisiri, Kaisroki, and Kaisgarou have all been lovely to behold in your own and Furball's drawings. Their language also makes an odd kind of sense to me. I see similarities here with some Asian languages where certain written symbols can have various meanings depending on their location within a sentence or pronunciation.
I wish to express the hope that the few that "break the rules", so to speak, never get so annoying that they take away the joy of creating these creatures. I would love to see them grow and prosper as they make the transition from your mind to (digital) paper.
furthermore i wish to thank this artist for their creations. they took the time to make all this yet willing to show us what they designed. thank you very much.
apologies for the grammar, and terrible typing. this had to be written with my touch screen phone that is finicky, and cracked. as my computer, and good phone are out of service.
I know it might be too late to say it right now, but... Lathander, I am deeply sorry for the fact that I made it look like I was disrespecting you by not asking.
I know better now.
