Books!

I bought myself a shitload of books today :>
I grabbed Nietzsche's Beyond Good and Evil and Sinclair's The Jungle for a buck each. Nietzsche has a bunch of idiotic scribbles in it that I didn't notice until I bought it, which is kind of a bummer. The Jungle copy is hilariously dense for a published paperback novel, which is...actually kinda refreshing! I miss the days when everything wasn't in 16 pt. font.
I grabbed Bertolt Brecht's Galileo - sorta excited for that even though I don't really "get" Brecht as a reader. I enjoyed Mother Courage, but didn't love it.
I found a copy of The Essential (Eric) Bogosian - I can already tell I'm going to have fun with this. Lots of great pieces for monologue fodder. I really identify with his point of view as a writer.
Finally, I grabbed two texts by David Mamet - one was a copy of Glengarry Glen Ross(FINALLY) and another was Writing in Restaurants. Writing is fantastic. For real. I could not be happier with any book I've blindly purchased. He emerges from gritty, thin dialogue like Glengarry had and opens up on a pretty wide variety of subjects. Wonderful read that's easily palatable since it's basically a compilation of essays. Would recommend for any Mamet fan or aspiring actor.
That's about it. Peace. :v
