Yikes... not just a puncture hazard, but a fire hazard too.

That's a bummer about the lack of hot water.

My room is hotter then normal since last summer. I came up with the theory they were growing pot down there. We haven't found out if I am right yet. The real worry though is if they have been producing meth down there.

Its like every person they rent that apartment down there is worse then the last.

If their electric meter's substantially high that could be lamps for Pot (least that's what I recall from seeing news reports of such things).

As for the Meth.. yeah I'd be worried too about that.

My youngest brother, when he attended a central California university had his apartment complex shifted to a "Section 8" federal housing rating by the complex's owners.

He found he had acquired drug addicts in the apartment directly below him; the residents had frequent arguments, and loud music at odd hours. Even I was woken a few times when I visited him the year he graduated.

yeah the growing lamps do a job on your meter. We had an issue with the building having unusally high electric bills during the summer. That was during the heat wave we had. No one thought much of it as the building has heating and cooling issues. Too hot in the summer to cold in the winter

I put the thought out that they might be growing things a week or two ago when I noticed that my room was staying around 70 instead on ~60.

I hate to say it like this but we are used to the yelling and the loud music. The landlord isn't to picky about who the rent to.
