That's how I felt about the situation, too.

I honestly didn't even know there was any drama going on until someone brought it up to my bf. Agreeing with you, it's shitty what Tarangryph went through but if it didn't happen on FA what can the mods do.

I feel exactly the same way. The only thing that has irritated me about this whole thing is the people that are trying to delegitimize tarangryph's experiences or accuse her of somehow being at fault for what happened/for people leaving/for whatever.

If anything I'm glad that this gotten a large amount of attention in the off chance that this will effect how situations like this are dealt with in the future, but I won't be leaving either.

I'm really glad that most, if not all, of the journals I've seen on the topic have been similar to this one. I agree completely. It's awful that what happened to the person involved did and I hope that it's being resolved through the proper channels, but in my opinion temporary butthurt and ship-jumping from a bunch of strangers who blame one site isn't going to help anything.

There was a lot of it in the deleted journal that was rather eventful, and all out... well.... fowl, directly from the offender's words.

What happened was this:

Some built up frustrations at FA over years of time being on FA, thinking about leaving, but not really really doing it until this was kind of a push over the edge. *shrugs*

I'm personally not leaving -JUST- because of this incident, though it certainly helped me make the decision, and Q feels the same.
We do not at all "blame the site" but disagree with certai individuals.
The goal wasn't to stir up drama, it was to avoid it entirely. Though it's rather hard to do that when so may eyes are on you. This is simply a way of walking away. We understand that many people don't like it, and we're sorry if anyone is rubbed the wrong way and is taking it as a couple of oversensitive drama llamas, but fact is;

We just don't want to be here anymore.

I will certainly keep my eye on you on here, I love your work, and respect ya. This was not meant to be a whining and crying and pissing and moaning move. This is just a: Well... Long time coming.

Ya, seriously. This kind of thing occurs on every art site ever because 1.) The Internet, and 2.) The people running them are un-paid, un-trained humans. I do wish FA wasn't so god-awful slow but I don't pay shit for it so that's about as mad as I can get ;)

I took a look at weasyl and didn't care for it either.
Things were handled in an entirely F'ed up manner yes, but like you said thing the one admin is gone and the creeper got banned. Granted this doesn't make things 100% all better, but it's a start. Hopefully though this will help to change the way tickets are handled and the time frame they are handled within.

The whole situation was blown way out of proportion, as near as I can tell, the only thing FA really did "wrong" is be slow to respond to TT's, but that's been the case for a long time.
FWIW if someone really wants a quicker response they can try PMing active mods with the TT and info about what's going on. Same thing if one mad gives an unsatisfactory response you can always try another if you think they are flat-out wrong about things.

You put it about as intelligently as I've seen yet, I've been trying to piece together the words for it.

I absolutely HATE the mentality of "I don't like this so I'm leaving." It happens every time elections roll around, every time drama stuff goes down here, it's like... How is that helping anyone? Yeah, you may be leaving the drama or whatever yourself, but you're leaving behind so many people who have to deal with it that it almost makes it worse for them. Like you're shrugging off your responsibility to DO something about stuff you don't like onto others.

I'm trying to see what's going on with this and another stalking that came up recently to see what I think on everything. :/

I'm of the same opinion, except I may post some art eventually for people to get a taste of my stuff so that they can decide if they want to come over to FA.

I won't leave FA either, I just thought it was time for some... "fresh wind" (don't know if I can say this in English, but in German it means that it was time for a change and to give weasyl a try), so I will be on both galleries. Leaving FA would be a step too far for me. I'm glad there are still enough people staying :3

Glad to see another view on this. While I think the situation was handled poorly, I don't think I can justify leaving the site that has given me the most (if not all) my business.
