What's with that Weasyl? Why people going there?

I've had an account there for awhile. It's just another place to post my art. It does have a lot more options than FA though, like folders and a commission tab. I tend to join up with most new art sites and since this one seems to be doing well I'd like to be more active there :D

It just went into open beta -- previously you could only get an account on it if you were invited by someone who already had one. Now anybody can sign up.

Also, right about the same time, there was an unpopular administrative decision on FA that upset a lot of people, so whereas a lot of them might have just quit FA, or stayed and complained, they decided to go to Weasyl instead since it had just become an option.

Weasyl has more features than FA, some of them features that many other art sites have but users have been clamoring for on FA for a long time with no results (multiple submission folders, folders for favorites, etc.). But there are still many things it doesn't have; it's still not an ideal art site -- as if anything could be the perfect site for everyone. I'm sure they'll also have all the problems FA has in time.

I wish people would use that site more. It's better than FA. Designed better, the code is better, more features. Seems that people either don't want to 'learn' a new UI, or are just stubborn and have some kind of misplaced loyalty to this site.
