Family issues explained. We'll miss you Grandpa Joe

Not all who wander are lost.~JRRTolkien Well I guess I'll say a little more about the family issue I hinted at before.
About 2 weeks ago my grandfather broke his hip. He refused to go for a little over a week before my uncle flew in and got him to go in. It turned out he had broken the ball off his femur, and therefore surgery was required. He was doing okay (though very uncooperative) until Thursday when his kidneys failed. My mother and I decided to fly out the next day. We got there late that night and got to talk to him a little before going to bed. At 7am Saturday morning he was given 1 hour to live as he was having trouble breathing. True to his stubborn nature, it took 8 hours instead of that one, but in the end he is gone.
This world has lost such an amazing man-He was a WWII veteran lived to be 94 years old and leaves his wife's side for the first time in 63 years. He never stopped-through blizzards, the war, the 7 days a week 18 hours a day grind of farming and ranching, and even a heart attack which killed him twice and damaged 1/3 of his heart irreparably (and lived 15 more years despite that). His IQ was one of the highest in the state, and he didn't lose it in his age-he could still to huge calculations in his head, know what all is happening in the world according to the media, and played the stock market like a pro. He was also a mean rummy player. He was a great brother to his siblings, loving husband to his wife who shared the same birthday as him just 10 years younger, wonderful father to my uncle and mother, and such a fantastic grandpa to his only grandchild.
He will most definitely be missed. My family and I, though we knew it'd happen eventually, we still were not ready for it. We're trying to stand together and get through this.
So for the moment, I’m going to focus on them and worry about art only when it’s utmost convenient. I hope you all understand. Thank you for your patience and support.
