The Furry Fandom: My Short Speech

Why am I a furry? What is the fandom to you? People ask these questions and i'm going to share my thoughts and opinions with you. Watch out, somethings may get a teeny bit deep.
The Furry Fandom and my furry friends are my escape. The friends of mine who are in the fandom, they're like family to me and I love them all deeply. We all seem pretty accepting of each other from what i've noticed. That's one reason why i'm a furry. The acceptance. When I was younger, I was that weird kid who was always picked on for some reason, I didn't feel accepted. But in the fandom, I do.. I feel accepted. But speaking about when I was younger, I loved stuffed animals my entire life, and to this day I still love stuffed animals.. When I was younger, I found comfort in them. Their soft fur, happy expressions, bright colors sometimes too. I guess in my mind, that's also what my attraction is to the Furry Fandom and Fursuits. Fursuits I guess take me back to my childhood, back to the comfort i felt with my stuffed animals. Their soft fur, happy expressions, and bright colors. Suiters seem so happy, perky and chipper when they're in suit and just seem to send joy to those around them. I understand that Furries are weird to the public. The media isn't to easy on them either.. Portraying us as sex crazed people who will pounce and have sex with any animal and have orgies with each other in the forests and stuff. But I can tell you from experience, from being in close connections and contact with MANY people in the fandom, that we are definitely not like that. What we do, or at least I do, it's an escape from this chaotic world.. To go back and have fun as a kid again. To be around others like you and to just have fun, be happy, perky and chipper. To spread joy.. That's what they are to me. Go ahead and call me a "Furfag", go tell me to "Yiff in Hell", because I don't care.. The fandom and the people in it make me happy.. And if you cant see it or accept it, shame on you for raging and bashing on is for what the media portrays us as.
