I saw that this morning, I had to try so hard not to cry. I've been there, I know how much it hurts, and how hard it is to keep fighting what seems to be a losing battle... I felt relieved after watching it, just to know that because you haven't won yet, doesn't mean you've lost.
"They were wrong." Keeps echoing in my mind.

Even as I sit here, typing through tears and trying to pull myself together again, I have to say thank you. Thank you for sharing this. I am twelve years past the cruel circus that is elementary/middle/high school, and it still hurts. The memories still bring up aches that, to this day, I struggle with. That make the dance of social interaction more akin to dodging shells on a battlefield. That make me armor myself in indifference and sarcasm, because I've been hurt too many times when I've dared to open up to others.

They were wrong.

I'm still here. I have friends who care about me. I have a husband who loves me. I have cats who are now worried and trying to cheer me up because they don't understand why mommy is crying. I'm still a freak, but I'm not alone. I can be proud of who I am and what I've become, and where I still have to go with my life.
