Feburary Updates; Weasyl!

So, monthly updates!
I now have a weasyl account! https://www.weasyl.com/profile/slippingstar No, I'm not moving. I went there to follow the artists that did, though. And I'm liking the site itself. :3
We've started our concentrations in both art classes. I'm liking where they're going.
Dusty died Saturday morning (near 0300). <:C I was able to get him while he still had some of himself up there, and I stayed with him til he was gone. He tried to brux for me. -gets teary-
I have joined my local Unitarian Universalist congregation. And I simply love it! They're all about helping you find your way in life, whatever that may be, so long as that's not blowing people up or something crazy. XD There's a lot of atheists, rational thinkers, and free-thinkers there, and they accept any scientific findings and the queer community. In the mornings, they have a forum where we discuss a topic, like "Truth; does it exist, and if so, how do we find it?" It's the kind of community I've been looking for since forever. And I have a place in it!
My state is trying to reform our sex ed to be comprehensive (which means we would include contraception and queer relationships, and refer to the vulva correctly, finally. >:C), and I've gotten involved in that movement. But in THUH BAHBUL BEYULT, I'm not sure how far we can get. >.< But 86% of our voters want it to happen, so it's looking pretty likely. :)
I got accepted into a local community college. Not a big feat, but it's cheaper than a four-year, which I plan to transfer to. They're telling be exactly what classes to take, so they can't tell me the courses don't count when I transfer. >:C
How do you guys deal with losing a pet? I don't believe in a god, and if anything, I think we're reincarnated, but I really hope there's a heaven of some sort for animals; they're too sweet for oblivion.

FA+

that Unitarian community sounds pretty neat, I would probably enjoy discussions there. <:} I'd love to join someplace like that... but I'd be too afraid to join because I'm a Christian and I'd probably be picked on... even though I think the same exact way as they all do, and my only difference is that I believe in a God... I've tried to be in communities such as those but I have gotten looked down upon for believing in a greater being. It's a shame that people stereotype me because of my beliefs. (I blame the right winged bigots... bleck.)
Oh god your pet peeves with vulvas XD
hooray college! :D
now back to the pet topic... well, I do believe in a God but I'm really not sure what happens after someone or an animal passes. I believe in some sort of heaven, and I think it would be reassuring to think that that soul is not lost, but transferred or put somewhere else <:}
Actually, we just discussed if christians could be UU's! I mean, they're welcome to attend, but if they would enjoy it and find a place within the community. We concluded that A) one of the general main beliefs, that we are all born inherently sinful, directly conflicts with the first principle of UU's: we are all inherently good, B) it would depend on the type of christian, because Bahbul Beylt christians are as different from European christians as they are agnostics. Maybe you're just a monotheist if you agree with UU values? I know someone who believes there's one god, but not necessarily the christian god.
;p
I'm scared. D:
I can hope... but until I have proof, I won't base any worldly actions on metaphysical beliefs.
I'd say I believe in a Christian God, but I am not certain. I do not thing faith should be a thing to be "certain" about considering there is little to no proof for OR against.
oh god I'm preaching I'm so sorry D:
Why can't more christians be like you? ;^;
...
maybe we can convieniently misplace them on the moon? XD
aw man, thank you so much! That's a really big compliment to me ;u;
But of course! You're what christians are supposed to be!... I think... the contradictions make it hard to tell. XD Love everyone... stone gay people... lolwut? XDD
that isn't what Christianity is about at all. There are many people like me out there, but (just like a certain fandom about animals), the loud extremists get the most attention...
