I didn't realize this was poetry until after the initial story. I love poetry. When I was on the speech team one of my favorite programs to watch, and when I got the chance to participate in, was poetry. The line "who's definition of beauty begins with mom" made me break. I don't know why that struck me so hard, but I gasped at the power of it and started crying. I cried throughout the rest of this piece. We're discussing harassment in one of my classes right now, and I have to send my teacher this. Last class we listened to "Same Love" by macklemore.

If I was still on the speech team I would beg my coach to perform this.
