Okay, I don't often post journals, but I'm appauled at how many people treat others like total shit nowadays in the fandom.
Before I begin: By the way, you guys can hate me all you want for defending someone I took the time to get to know, but the point of this post is not to defend anyone, but to give you a look at how mean this fandom can be when people aren't face to face.
Also, I wrote this on my own terms. Nobody asked me to.
I can understand people outside the fandom not liking us and things getting a little hairy (heh).
But, being in this fandom has given me a new family, a pack. One that I could never see myself being without. The fandom is supposed to be kind and loving to each other because there are many furries who are treated like crap outside the fandom.
Yet, I have never seen more rude, assholeness anywhere in the world than I have in the last couple weeks within the fandom!
People are so mean to others. They make fun of people. They accuse people of PROFITING off other's deaths, particularly Lemonade Coyote (RIP), which was a huge misunderstanding and the person being accused, though I do admit sometimes can get a bit upset easier than others and react poorly, in all reality his heart was in the right place. He may have not thought it through as well as he should have, but the POINT of his project was good spirited, yet very few people took the time to ask, and went straight to accusations, which seems to be the common way of doing shit now. Then to top it off, those same people continuously make fun of his grammar and his anger problems. He admits on his Facebook he has troubles with learning, and you (hopefully) would never make fun of a disabled person, so why would you make fun of someone who has troubles learning to write?
Also, I'd be pissed to the way some of you treat people. And when he tries to be nice, fix things, express his feelings, you post even meaner crap. If you have to critisize, be polite for heavens sake!
I don't know 100% what happened behind closed doors, but from what was publically posted on Facebook, this is where I get my reasoning.
TAKE SOME TIME and get to know people, their situations, their stories. Understand them before you turn on them.
And for HEAVEN'S SAKE, DON'T TAKE SHIT SO DAMN SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!!

I mean, I pretty much instantly live every fur I meet. An I think most furs feel the same, all comfortable with each other right off the bat.
And I have my pack, the ones I know I couldn't live without now.
I've never met face to face a mean fur, and I assume it's 'coz they don't have the balls to be mean without their technological wall, but as soon as you can't see their faces... Bam.
Indeed, and honestly, if people wanna hate me for defending someone based off how I view things, I mean unless I'm defending a murder, then I don't really care what people think. They can hate all they want, but again the point isn't really to defend anyone, but rather to enlighten people of the situation.
