Vancoufur in Review - 2013
So I did like a lot of cons in the last year or so. AC, RF, MFF, FC, and now VF(I know they weren't in all the same Calender year, but hey).
Anyways, I just finished up with Vancoufur, and outside of Anthrocon, it literally was the best con I attended this year. Not saying the other cons weren't awesome, but Vancoufur really surprised me. It's actually a really small local con that's only in it's second year, and even unlike the other conventions, is a little shorter, or at least felt shorter with me basically showing up Friday night.
Friends
Probably the thing I had the most fun at this was the friends. Lots of local people, and not so local people. I really didn't think about it, but I'm really blessed with amazing friends. I love all of you guys!
my great friend was in from out of town who got to attend with me and we hung around for most of the con.
was here for a lot of the con hanging with me, dancing, and generally hanging out to the early hours of the morning. Great Dancer, great friend, and always enjoy getting to hang with him.
I got to meet again, and unlike Anthrocon, I got to actually to hang out for more than all of three seconds. May have hounded too much, but they are just an amazingly fun person to hang around with and chat with. Very funny, very friendly, very awesome person.

I got to room with (thank you a bunch guys by the way). Got to hang out, and dine with these great guys, and suit with them as well, around the dance.
Was awesome, because just before the con I got to snag some supplies to help repair my suit. Got to meet here in bits during the con, like around the dance comp and the dances. Such a friendly awesome person.
Maybe one of the nicest guys you'll run into, and a hard worker. The guy has done so much to try and help the local fur community, and me. I can't say enough good things about him really.
I didn't get to meet up, talk, or hang out with everyone as much as I'd like, but everyone I gave or got hugs from, you guys helped make the con more than just a place to dress up as a pretend animal.
Dance
Always some of the best parts of any convention, or just life. GOOD music, good friends, and just having fun jamming to music is one of my favorite things to do at a convention. The DJ line up was pretty good at Vancoufur including people like
and many others. I don't always get to stay to listen to all the DJ's set, as dancing often exhausts me pretty quickly, but damn if I didn't have fun.
At the Dance comp, it was kind of hilarious. Tied for last place! Not as big of a hit to my self esteem as it may seem, there were only 5 people, and quite honest, I'm not up to where I want to be dancing in suit, or out of suit, least in competitions. I do think I get a bit of stage fright, becomes a bit harder to breath, feel slower, and often kind of feels like I slow down, or can't control my movements that much. Despite sounding like I'm terrified of performing infront of an audience, I actually love it! I got a few people passing in the con mentioning they enjoyed my dancing, and to be honest, that makes me feel better than any award or title given at a dance comp could ever do.
Fursuit
Fursuits are weird for me. I got to try one.. 2 years ago now? Decided I really wanted one, kind of rushed it, got a really good looking suit, and didn't realize just how hot they got, and quite often I just store it away, and don't wear it. Hard to see, hard to move, feel like just laying down and trying not to sweat, but I'm not sure if it was the new underarmour, or perhaps the cool weather, or even the fact that in the dance, they had a giant fan blowing(Which was AMAZING for fursuiting at the dances). Either way, I spent a great while just hanging out in suit, and generally having fun. Really really enjoyed being at suit at this con.
I feel like I'm developing a bit more personality, and able to accent my movements a bit more while in it, and quite often drank water, and cooled off to go back out for more suiting. Was a blast, and makes me just want to run back out again suiting soon.
