What comes next? Help needed!!

First off, thankyou to everyone for all your support and especially your advice. This fandom is truly something unique and special.
I've spent pretty much every hour of the day since I've gotten back reading immigration laws, posting on advice forums and trying to find a way around this. It seems like every avenue I try I run into barriers. My head hurts, I'm not sleeping, and I keep getting flashes like he's in the next room...The biggest barrier by far for us is showing that Mangy has strong ties to the USA and can afford to pay for his trip. Namely, showing that he has employment.
To that end, Mangy is putting himself forward as a freelance artist (which he is of course!) but he hasnt done any commissions since the last tax year (thanks to having a tiger at his house and a fulltime job). We need to get commissions done and most importantly paid for, ASAP so that we can show UKBA not only that he has employment, but he makes enough for his trip.
So please, we really need your help -
Mangusu has opened for commissions here in his journal http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/4400538/ . Please only take commissions if you can pay promptly, we have less then a month to get the document in order.
This time around we have organised a two and a half month itinerary where we (quite legitimately) plan to travel for a weekend in paris, to confuzzled in leicester for a week, a weekend in scotland, and a weekend in portsmouth. The rest of the time will be split between London, and wherever I am living, maybe Bristol with some luck. Hopefully that will show UKBA that the purpose ofthe trip is indeed a holiday.
After that, Mangy will come back to the USA, but we will have a stronger case for a partner visa and a more permanent solution.

One thing though - commissions savings would show funds to support a trip, but being freelance it in no way shows ties to the US, since it can be done anywhere any time (he even posted about doing them while over here!!!). What they are looking for are contractual or strong financial incentives to return home, really this is the sort of thing a professional will help with.
It might be that they will advise prepping for a permanent visa and making sure he can get in as a tourist for a much shorter visit if required.
There simply isnt a way to show firm financial ties. Noone would employ him for a month and then let him take off for 2 months. You're right about professional advice, but sometimes that can make it look bad as well.
There are no permament visas except civil union visas that he can get. Aaron has no skills that would let him get a work sponsor visa and they dont do working holiday visas for americans.
Its coming to the point where we are considering Australia.
On Australia - the skills/points-based visas are very expensive and (from memory!) you need three years education post-school to meet the minimums, or have a skill at shortage, the website has all the info. The Aus working holiday visa is quite fun, I worked there on one for 7 months, I had to return home because my employer wasn't granted permission to employ workers on a 457 visa (I could carry on working back in the UK). That said, my job was pre-arranged before I left, you could get work if you just rocked up there but it would probably be low-paid manual labour, and risky if you don't have back-up funds.
