Exactly. And there's PLENTY of games that need a REBOOT. Like the "Soccer" (Football to you.) games I read that definitely need a reboot. Like Tecmo Cup (RPG), Red Card, Mega Man (Rock Man), etc.

I just seem bitter lol. I actually do like a lot of modern games but it'll soon be to the point where everything is the same.

you must be a console gamer... are alot of really great games arent first person shooter or co-op on the PC and alot of GREAT indie games being released/developed... not to say consoles are bad, and plenty of them arent fps or, co-op BUT seems to be a bigger number of them that are. I mean new sim city coming out all be it with DRM but still looks solid if you like sim games. Tera just went f2p if you like mmos(yea i know kinda co-op but combats pretty awesome), there is also path of exiles which is VERY much a diablo 2 vibe and game play with an awesome skill system.

Really alot of good games just sifting through bad to find the the gems, and i'm finding that indie games seem to be better in those areas.

also not defending current generation of games and how some very much are on this play it safe band wagon... but are some games are quite enjoyable despite all of that. As someone STILL plays and loves there nes and snes games, i do wish we could recapture that nostalgia...

Apparently, I heard on the news just now that they're banning games that have only single player modes, as it encourages people wanting to solve problems without asking for help. Pffft. This nanny-world..

I've noticed that you don't seem to be allowed to have friends in the real world, anymore, if you wanna play multiplayer. Everything is MMO this or ONLINE MULTIPLAYER ONLY that. What if I wanna sit down and just play with a few good buddies when they come hang out?

I echo your thoughts mate =) Such games still exist but.. yeah not for much longer methinks unless someone decides to make games without worrying about sales.

You do realize that all those games have online multi-player modes and new DLC map-content? Again, all for the masses.. ;)

Well I don't see an issue with expanding if the single player doesn't suffer and almost all of these games easily surpass the average length of the older games from say NES, SNES, Genesis, PS1, PS2 and Xbox. Sooooooooo what's the issue here?

There's also those who also offer couch coop in that list. I just don't see how options are bad :x

Also games like Mario, Sonic, Journey, Journey, Last of Us, Last Guardian, Knack, Star Wars 1313, Disgaea, Witcher, Infamous, Watch Dogs, Antichamber, Amnesia, The Bridge, Dishonored (can honestly go on) don't typically have multiplayer, have no plans of multiplayer or have incorporated online into leaderboards or some kind of dlc levels.

They've just announced they're never making a single-player only game again =( Also every game now has to have characters who can do more than one super power and operate every weapon ever. Sad times..
