The Flood, Retiring from SL Business, Weasyl
12 years ago
Phew, finished uploading a couple of sketches I had sitting in my small little notebook. Most of them Back from EF17, some of them from way back When I attempted an Iron Artistish challenge (Copper Challenge).

To date, I've been quite busy with work and school in the mix. While I was supposed to graduate Last year, I sorta missed a couple of courses due to being employed consistently between many different companies, as well as being self employed in between gigs. I am now on a finishing streak with my school with only a handful courses and my thesis.
Work is still work, but it is now way more permanent; its a heck of a rollercoster ride, but occasionally I have time to relax and be creative.
This means I should finally be able to continue working drawing and sketching again after I have finished my Engineer of Media Technology degree. Its still a ways to go, but Ill get it done eventually.
On the other hand, My Second Life use has clearly been downed as I started work life along with education; I am thinking of retiring from further development in it; unless something of interest comes up soon. Products I have released will still be maintained if they break in any further updates, but I'm just not gonna be active with creating anything; case in point, I haven't created any new product for the past 3 years, and logins may vary by weeks....
I have experimented with Mesh, and created some very interest prototypes Mesh heads and Weaponry that barely anyone has seen. In short it has been a creative outlet for me, especially when trying to create models that would work in a game environment. But I think its time to move on.
Everything seems so slow in the world now. While Mesh it self freed up alot of the earlier loops one had to do with Sculpties, but to be honest, it is only a structured,easier and better method of doing sculpt like shapes, while much more costly for the end user in terms of prim-count (performance wise it could be optimized like hell, but a Model with about max 2048 triangles (and Logarithmic triangle count on Lower LODs) is still going to cost more prims than 1 sculpty, which, by end results still has the same amount of triangles.
This is a minor gripe I have, and I could continue, but simply put, I don't feel a deal with arbitrary limits set by Linden Labs.
It is only exacerbated by the fact that only a small handful of my old social circles remain active in it. Everyone else has moved on.
I'm also starting to feel a bit aged to start socializing anew in the virtual space, Especially since all my old stomping grounds are gone and simply put I don't have time to dedicate into socializing in a virtual space, especially asI have expanded my horizons in reality. It doesn't help much that the fandom in SL has a very sexual overtone, which simply isn't of interest to me.
Nowadays, my Interest has been diverging into actually developing actual Games;
With the Oculus Rift and Leap Motion around the corner, I am very interested into developing Virtual environments and games for them. Currently experimenting with random dungeon Generation in Unity3D. It will be an interesting experiment and I am looking into the future into this.
